Most recent things I've done:
Pulled the black vinyl wrap off the hood, polished it, and threw a coat of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 on. Installed a UEL header (borla rep) and let my Legacy sing the song of its people for my buddy's neighbors... open header. Tomorrow it's rear brakes and more exhaust work... it's all stock behind the UEL header right now. I should be lowering my outback this month, and I might put on my GT side skirts as well. |

A few weeks ago I used it as a pack mule. First 10 bags of mulch, a few bags of seed and fertilizer (no actual pic of the loaded car):
Then the next weekend was a bunch of garden edging bricks: I've certainly had more stuff (by volume) in the car, but these were pretty heavy loads. I was just about tucking tire in the rear, despite Tarmac2s with high spring rates. Project this weekend has been to replace the valve cover gaskets, something I should have done a long time ago. What a frickin' mess. Here are before and after shots of the passenger side; the driver side looked just as bad. It's hard to see due to the poor lighting, but note the black (caked with oil and dirt) cross-member in the before picture compared to the clean cross-member in the after picture. I basically got that job done last night (still need to reinstall the air intake, washer fluid reservoir, and battery), then decided to continue the cleaning by pulling the PS pump, which has also been leaking for a while. My initial inspection didn't reveal where it's actually leaking from, but there's PS fluid all over the top of the block. I'll be re-attacking that this evening after work. |

Finished up all of the valve cover gasket work by replacing the negative battery cable and putting a new terminal on the positive battery cable.
Also replaced both front axles, as the low mileage OEM WRX axles I installed last year were spewing grease from the CV boots. Rather than fight with the mess of replacing the CV boots and installing new bands, I just got a pair of Subaru reman axles from Annapolis Subaru. |

I blew my motor up today. Oil feed line blew off the turbo and sent the oil squirting out the motor like a ketchup bottle.

Bought it Friday (95 LSi)
Saturday I replaced the left front wheel bearing and axle and the heater control panel (was missing most buttons) Monday I removed all the interior for cleaning, dropped the headliner and repaired the sunroof. Apparently if there is a water leak the fix is to fill the track with silicone rather than reinstall the drivers front drain tube that fell off Now I just need to tackle the usual 2.2 oil leaks / timing belt. So far I'm into the car for $800 and it looks mint on the outside. |

Nice,
Got any side shots? I was thinking about going with WRX wagon suspension all round, probably with STi pinks and maybe Outback swaybars. |

It's raked a bit, and I'd like to eliminate the gap. Definitely feels a bit better now that it's lowered a little, though. |

Perfect,
That gives me a good idea of what to expect. I want it about an inch or so lower than that, so STi pinks will be perfect. My last Legacy wagon ended up on 08 Forester suspension with King springs and a body lift on 28in Grabbers |

That's the beauty of the Legacy, they can go up or down and look great either way.
I would have run WRX wagon struts, but my sedan stuff was pretty much free. Got a free TV, then traded that TV for suspension bits. Sedan struts make you lose a bit of negative camber. With my eibach camber bolts in the rear maxed out, I could only get -0.8°. Another inch or inch and a half drop would put the height right where I want it. 98legwag, what end links do you have? I'm thinking upgrading my Outback's end links will be my next suspension mod. |
