Default Humvee turbo in a subbie

I've been looking around havent see anyone try this. Not a actual Humvee turbo bc they suck but a gm6 turbo. If you have seen one on the exhaust snail it has two inlets one on each side that are v bands . I'm thinking to mount where a top mount would be and have a exhaust Mani come up form both sides and run reverse intake Mani . What do you guys think oh the turbo is about the same size of a gt30 turbo

Remember your planning on putting a turbocharger meant for only diesel really lower rpm with a narrow rpm range. Its not meant to produce large numbers of boost i mean you could get technical in what have to start replacing but its not practical i see it as.

Good point just thought it would be cool I know they use the cummins turbos thought it would be close to the same.
I'm a mechanic in the Military and they run 26psi and when you drive say on the interstate you have to floor it the hole time just to stay at speed soo there's where I was coming form thinking it would a ok turbo to run

a turbo has no idea what engine it is in, and any diesel turbo works great on a gas engine

example being a Volvo semi hx55 on a 2.0 4g63

There is different turbos for different displacement and applications. So agreed with your statement somewhat.

Turbos are meant for specific Pressure Ratios and Flow Rates, not gas or diesel

unless you're talking about VNT, then they're really only supposed to be used on diesels because of the temperature difference, but even they can work well on gas engines if it's set up correctly

Don't get me wrong but I'm pretty sure the 09 up WRXs need some low end power since the turbo takes so long to spool up and most of the power comes at the high RPM range.

I haven't seen too many people use garrett turbos on here. I would think a t3/t40e would work fantastic with these engines. No lag and flows a lot.

I'm old school, i'm not that familiar with the BB turbos, or the even newer ones.

I had a hunch. Garrett's GT3076 and GT3582 BB turbos are really common, and it looks like the GTX3071 and GTX3576 are going to be the new standards until/unless Borg-Warner figures out how to ship their EFR turbos at a decent rate.

I have a gm4 turbo on a stock 2.0. It is currently tuned at 18 psi putting out 300hp on the dyno. Spools around the 4800 rpm range. With a built 2.5 and some aggressive tuning it should be about the same as a 30r.

It is also a rotated intake with a perrin fmic.

Heres an old pic. has a different intake now.
