Hehe, "forewarned is forearmed" at least

Wow, I didn't realize CA was so strict, I would think that the difference in CA gas I've heard about would be bad enough...

It's definitely not just for 2.0, I got my email yesterday and I drive a 2011 2.5i. So it has to be all engines.

Just got mine today (in RI), '12 WRX Hatch.

Wonder what they'll say when they see the Cobb intake and downpipe.... guess I better have my open source stage 2 reverted to stock.
Anyone know if that's easy without going to the mod shop?
Is it something i can do to reboot it back to stock settings? like disconnect the battery..

i'm going to make an appointment for sometime in January. my dealer is NOT in the best area to be with all the holiday shoppers.

we got the letter months ago but I had the update done today. Only took about 15 minutes. As note, no change in how the car drove at all, which is what I would expect for a parameter change for teh coolant light.

I was at the dealer today about an hour, but I asked them to replace the rear windshield wiper and check the throttle as I have a 5spd that sometimes hesitates for a few seconds, it hasn't happened recently, but is annoying when it does happen (and is unrelated to the hill hold function)

I've had the issue with the throttle hesitation as well. I can put my foot on the gas and it takes a second for it to get gas. Definitely noticeable when I am at a stop and go to start. Did they do anything about it?

no, they could not duplicate it. It is very sporadic, for me it hasn't happened in months.

Cobb Accessport (Cobb AP)... ECU / engine management (tuning)

ETA: when you install it (marry it to your car), it prevents updates to the ECU due to a built-in overwrite thingy.

Just had this done and i noticed it changed the gas pedal response. Before the update the gas pedal was very sensitive and now there is a delay between pressing the pedal and acceleration. Its not a huge deal, just annoying i have to relearn how to drive my car after 20k miles.

has anyone else noticed changes? gas pedal, mpg, anything?

I did not notice any changes but it is not unusual for the car to have to relearn certain parameters after they do any updates (or change the battery)

Myrt, is your car a CVT?

I had the TSB done on my 5-speed Impreza, and didn't notice any changes.

I have a stage 2 catless 2012 wrx. I brought it to the dealer to get the update done with an oil change. I unmarried the accessport before going inside the service dept. I handed them the keys and when the car was ready, I married the accessport once again before leaving the lot and everything ran smoothly as it should.
