Was this while you were stage 2?

LOL, sorry about that bud. Previous spelling only applies if you're willing to give reacharounds.

08STI. Mine went bad ~40k miles. I had the extended warranty and the dealer replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing.

If a throwout bearing and a clutch release bearing are the same thing then I had mine replaced under warranty at 50k miles or so. Pretty sure they only swapped out that bearing. I'd have to check my receipt to be sure. Now my clutch is making a DIFFERENT squeaking noise. This one appears to be caused by the brake slave cylinder or something. It's too damn cold out right now to go poking at things to see if the welds are breaking. Here's hoping my pedal assembly doesn't fall on the floor between now and April!

LOL at all the people saying "I had mine replaced under warranty while I was still within warranty period so they should fix yours under warranty" when he's OUT OF WARRANTH

soooo what are the signs of a bad TOB? (aside from a potentially squeeky clutch)

Noise with the pedal depressed?

And technically isn't the TOB internally lubricated since it's a sealed bearing

Other than the squeak, I had a "whirring" sound at 50% clutch travel when the engine's running and in neutral.
