Would there be any issue having a 7" wheel and 205mm (8") tire? I know the width of the tire is sidewall to sidewall and not necessarily the bead to bead measurement.

Try willtheyfit.com The site has comparative illustrations for two sets of tires and wheels.

Thanks NubImpreza, looks like there isn't too much difference aside from a minor increase in overall diameter and 7mm more offset from the rotor/suspension. I'm going to put an offer on these and see what the seller comes back with. Man I love forums!

The impreza sport comes with 205 tires and 17x7 wheels so no...

So I picked up my "New to me" 1999 Subaru Forester Rims and Winter tires on Friday.
They wheels had some old and nasty looking plasti dip on them so I decided to clean them up to a) make them look better and b) inspect for any cracks etc.
They are in pretty good shape although the finish has certainly seen better days.

Does anyone know how to get these looking new again, or even suggestions for removing some of the corrosion. I don't want to incur a large cost to clean these up and will most likely just paint them but would like to at lease attempt to get rid of the corrosion before painting. Any links to a DIY or instructional thread would be fantastic!

I have heard that and was skeptical, that would be for the corrosion spots correct? Would using paint stripper help, I have seen videos of people using it and it dissolves the clear coat and bares the metal. Obviously a clear coat would have to go back on after. I would assume with the coke and foil it would still need to be resealed after?

Yeah, I've heard it works really well, I would google it. I think the reaction of the acids in the coke and the reaction with the aluminum works as a corrosion solvent and scraper all at once.

Just picked up some 13 WRXs and was wondering what tire size others were running on these wheels. I know stock they came with 235/45. Am looking for size with a bit of comfort since this is a DD. Plus I'm lowered on Eibachs (soon to be Tein coilovers).

Why not just wet sand? If you are planning on painting them anyway

What wheels are you running? Also when I had my winters mounted I found a guy on Kijiji to mount and balance them for $60.00. He had a shop with the right equipment but certainly wasn't a tidy establishment. Anyway if you find a guy in your area like this he certainly won't scold your non-DOT-ness.

Finally got my 2nd summer set. I was liking the black for an alternate look of the gold: 17x9 et35 to be wrapped with 235/40-17 rubber.

WRXs on my base model 5door; lowered on Eibachs currently but will be swapped out for Tein coilovers in a couple weeks. Bought SPC rear LCAs but was wondering if anyone was using front camber bolts?

I am new, those are 17 profile and 8 wide is that correct? I take it there are no rub issues? Can you turn the front's the full range of motion without contacting anything? Don't the WRX and STI have stock fender flares for clearance or are the wheels spaced out further by spacer or otherwise mounting wheels out further than stock impreza.

That's correct, the wheels are 17x8 +53 with 235/45 tires. No rubbing or contact issues at all. Not using spacers either. I may have to roll my rear fenders when I install the coilovers but I'm only looking for another 1" drop at most so I'll play it by ear. Bought the rear LCAs to correct my camber.

Great set up for daily. I just want a little more lower. Hopefully it won't cause me any issues.
