Not sure if that region is like ours or are they just "playing" the system, but XTs are hard to come by around this area.

And just FYI(if it hasn't been posted yet. Been reading a lot and haven't seen it), as of 2 days ago ALL MODELS are open to VIP pricing.

Justy, This is just a casual observation but, you can't be the best salesman at your dealership. With the time spent on Nasioc typing you could be making sales appointments or, god forbid, taking an "up". Or else your dealership numbers are way up and you are satisfied with your monthly sales. I would assume the owner/gen. mang./sales mang. does not know the incredible amount of time you spend on Nasioc every hour, every day.

I know I'm busting your balls a little and it's nothing personal...I have worked in the auto business for longer than I like to admit, at one point in my life, and know the brutal hours you guys are forced to put in everyday, but constant forum chit-chat would have got any salesman fired or most certainly would have encouraged a less than stellar monthly finish for that salesperson.

Nah. Obviously he just hasn't read a lot of my posts. He has missed many of the times I have said that I AM NOT A SALESMAN!!!! At least, not in the sense you are referring. I am not on commission. If he would notice, there are many times there are hours long gaps between posts. Then I try and catch up. Not easy sometimes. I would venture to say that being on here is part of my job(that the bosses are well aware of). I had a lot of general Subaru knowledge before getting hired; but, have also learned a bunch by being on here. The dealership is also my side job. My "real" job is a firefighter. Our work weeks are 56hrs and I put in 40 at the dealership. I do odds and ends on the lot until there is a customer to talk to. Today, for example, I spent rearranging all of the cars as we got several trucks over the past couple days.

Sorry for falling off topic, but if you REALLY would like my full job description, PM me and I'd be happy to explain.

Oh, and I am not on here NEAR as much as some.

How'd you find out it was at port? I keep hearing "not yet" on mine.

My sales person texted me. I have a VIN already, had it when i did the deposit. Do you have one?

My car was already in their allocation. I guess once they arrive at port it is assigned a transit #.

So he can check inventory and see. It's like when you go on their website and a vehicle listed as part of their inventory but says "in transit". I think that means its in the US at that point either at port or being shipped.

Since I'm in New England and port is RI, he knows it might be a week or two for it to arrive. I hope it comes this week. We have a trip to the Cape this weekend and I'd love to take it.

Hey Brahmzy, do the LED fogs with the yellow seem brighter and more effective than the stock bulbs?

The bulb I got claims 1200 lumen.

White LED shown

LED Style: 11w Cree Plasma
LED Qty: 4 * 1.5w / 5w Cree
LED Type: Plasma High Power SMD / Cree
Lumens: 240 + 460 = 700 total (Stock halogen = 1100 lumens)
Sold individually

NOTE: These have a thin plastic layer over the LED's. This is primarily to disperse light more evenly but it also makes the LED's appear to light up from "inside" the metal housing. Certain colors, such as "White" will have a yellow phosphorous in this layer.

so far it works well

lcrazyaznl, how are the fog light surrounds removed? Do the just pull out or do they need to be accessed from behind the bumper?

Your fxt looks great btw.

Foglight comes out with one push clip underneath. Then you can push aside the splash shield and get the bulb out by reaching in.

Unless the LED bulbs output wide-spectrum white, warm white, or yellow, yellow film filters will diminish light output.

cold white LEDs use blue LEDs with various grades of yellow phosphor to mix to produce white light.

A yellow film filter kills blue light transmission (chromatic opposites) so all that would pass through would be the amount of light that the yellow phosphor is putting out... which may not be all that much, if the white color temperature of the LEDs is high (cold blue shades of white)

plus cold-white light frequencies, higher color temperatures, are back-scattered and refracted by water droplets more easily, and are responded to by the eye's physiology differently. Warm white or selective yellow frequencies tend to be more effective at not being refracted by fog, and giving better color rendition for the eye to process.

Plus LED replacement bulbs don't usually place emitters right exactly where the filament of the halogen bulb was... so the reflectors that are focused on a specific bulb's halogen filament won't be focused precisely on one of the narrow-angle LED emitters. The pattern will not be as precise, and the light will more likely be scattered.

I like LEDs as a light source, but I really wish more functional lamps were being produced, rather than just decorative LEDs in an enclosure, and calling it good. Fog lamps are supposed to be focused a certain way.

JW Speaker has a nice LED projector fog, but they are relatively large (PAR36 replacement, 4.02"/102mm diameter), and quite expensive (~300$ each, not per pair), and are warm-white, not selective yellow.

J.W. Speaker 6045 LED Fog Light

They would probably fit an earlier forester, outback, or other big fog light subaru application just fine, but the new '14 Forester fog lights appear to be smaller.

Some off-road light bars offer the option of amber LED output, but amber isn't the same as selective yellow, and off-road light bars tend to be un-focused lumen-blasters that just light up everything. Fog lights are supposed to have a vertical cutoff, and a wide horizontal field, with high intensity for a moderate distance.

With LEDs, one would think with the inclusion of both warm white, and true yellow emitters, a real optically focused fog light could be designed that would actually be a superior fog light, in both efficiency, and in performance.

But I have yet to see such a product on the market that is affordable, and versatile in terms of vehicle fitment.

Rigid Industries has a whole myriad of LEDs in square, rectangle, bars and even flush mounted units. I've seen them mounted in all sorts of creative ways. Affordable they are not however.
