Door Speaker Static?
I am getting a faint static noise from my doors speaker.
Last weekend I replaced the door speakers with JL - C2 650X Evolution 6 1/2's and didn't put the amp in. All was good besides the crappy sound from them being under powered. This weekend I installed the amp which is a Alpine MRX V60 5-Channel (no sub yet). Now I have a faint static coming from the door speakers. When the sound (stock base HU) is muted or powered down the static does not make it self known and it does not increase with vehicle acceleration or radio volume it is constant at one level. For the radio pros - the question is - how do I fix it? I have found that a noise filter may work or is there any other solutions out there? Thanks For the people who just say "this has been brought up before search it!!!" That seems to be your solution for everything. And I have searched it.

How did you connect the wires from the head unit to the amp? I was having the same issue, I used crimp style bullet connectors to connect my wires and the wires from the HU wouldn't stay fully secure. The wires would move around in the connector and cause static. If you haven't already soldered the connectors on or made a solid connection by soldering the wires together, you may want to start there. I spent a little time on this and this is what I came up with and so far it's working. Also, you may want to try troubleshooting all of your connections just in case. Hope this helps

I twisted the wires together and heat shrink wrapped them together.... I will play around with it.
Thanks |

deffinatly try using better connections. tighter is better. try isolating the problem. disconnect the remote wire from the amp. if it still has static than it could picking up interferance from another wire. make sure they arent running right next to the power for the amp. for a good noise filter i have used a pyramid one. dont know if their still around but did the trick for me.

About the only thing you can do is use less volume on the HU and less gain on the amp.. Of course using the stock HU isnt halping you at all as its output has to go through a LOC or line output converter.. whick always adds noise .. Get a aftermarket HU and I bet a lot of it goes away |

I'm I correct in understanding that you are using the radios speaker wires to send a signal to the amp?
If that is the case, What you are experiencing is normal. |
