Default Respectable body shop in SE Michigan

So here's the deal - I've been looking at fixing some minor bubbling that's starting up on the rear fenders as well as the dings + subsequent corrosion caused by the prev. owner smacking the doors into stuff.

Here are some pics: http://www.rs25.com/forums/showpost....&postcount=313

I went and got some estimates from a few shops in the Macomb area. Basically, $800-1100 or so. From what they told me, they have to paint both doors, then blend the front fenders, and blend into the hood, paint both rear fenders, and paint the trunk to blend... so they basically end up painting 80% of the car to repair those two blemishes...

First of all, does that sound right?

Second, since the paint on the car is craptacular (tons of dings, scratches, chips...everywhere...etc) to begin with, I'm thinking that maybe I should just get the whole thing painted. Stock color, nothing fancy, just something that looks better than it does now and gets rid of the rust.
The only estimate I got for the full paint job was from Maaco (I know, I know), and it was just around $1000 for their best paint job + the prep service. They use Dupont paint and give a 5 year warranty.

Does anyone have any place they can suggest? The local Maaco place looks very respectable, but after all the bad things I've heard... I don't really know if I would trust them still. So yeah, I need some recommendations on respectable paint/body shops.

That's what I figured

I was more just curious than anything to see how they would charge.

Not sure how much it would be, but autometrix did a great job on my M3. There is one in Royal Oak and a few scattered around SE michigan. They work on some nice cars there, AMG SL 55, a few 911's, when I picked up mine.

Autometric is all over SE MI. I've only dealt with the one in Royal Oak on Main St, but they are all over the place. Dealers that sell BMW, Audi, Porsche etc send all their collision repair work to Autometric.
