We were un-catted before/after so there wasn't a significant sound difference. WOT was louder, but we also added 200whp

My experience has been a larger turbo will be louder even if the exhaust is exactly the same. Going from a stock turbo to something with a larger turbine wheel, like from a TD04 to a 20G, the exhaust note at idle was deeper and louder. I always thought that the exhaust pulses were "chopped up" finer with a smaller wheel or something? This is just what I've noticed over the years.
Which turbo did you have before going with the spoolinator? Did you go with the GTX3067? |

so you went from stock tiny turbo to a turbo with a 30R turbine? If so, that's probably the noise increase right there.

I had a 16g on my 205 so yeah pretty big jump but yeah you could be right. I guess I didn't expect it to be that much louder. The exhaust note changed too it a lot higher too

And Is there still a catless option for us who like to pollute the environment?

I've never run TXS before so I can't say on that, but we are using an adjustable TurboSmart and it works well. I did this because I wasn't sure what spring would be necessary, and twisting the top is WAY easier than changing springs No performance or reliability issues in daily and event abuse. Same goes with Tial BOVs, never had an issue once the springs were dialed in.

GTX3076R Spoolinator initial experience.
Per a PNW Mainline dyno plus built engine Stg 2 cams and 3" exhaust. Was: 262AWHP/233AWTQ VF52 maxed on a PW TMIC. Now: 355AWHP/292AWTQ With a 4 gallon AWIC, Frozen Boost Type 26, plus a AFCO 03-04MY Supercharged Mustang Heat exchanger. My tuner would like to further improve this chart with some AEM 4 channel UEGO and what not. I will try to answer questions. I am very busy; it might be awhile. I'd love to upload a Dyno chart but NASIOC won't let me. Here is a link; I hope it works: https://imageshack.com/i/pmKYMfRgp The GT30 turbine without a Cat of this Q300 dual exhaust is much louder and might be too loud for some--I am at my limit! I would like to here from the folks that dampened the road noise but not any way near the engine noise! Any ideas/help is greatly appreciated! Last edited by TeddyK; 05-03-2017 at 08:42 PM. |

Stock suspension, Michelin AS3 High performance all-seasons 17.5" wide. The noise is due to the rough aggregate exposed roads in the Puget sound area. |

The KillerB header being EL is going to make it hard on any exhaust designed for a UEL header, hell even a S*RS exhaust sounds great on the uel cars.
I run the Michelin A/S 3 tires as well, not noisy but mine are only 7" wide so not a ton of contact patch. I really think we need a shop to invest in tuning/building specialized catbacks for the EL header cars. Considering how many companies have been and are newly coming out with them, it would seem logical. They can sound awesome with the correct tuning, it's not magic, just trial and error. My car sounded decent catless with the holy header and Invidia Q300, but it still was a bit louder/too much drone at highway cruise rpm than I want for highway drives. My turbo was a Steamspeed Stx 20g-r which is supposedly equivalent to a 3068 combo. One more long resonator may have done the trick, but now I'm going another route soon so the Q300 is coming off. You'll notice, the Q300 and most other aftermarket cans are smaller than oem, which allows more noise out (for racecar sounds). We need a large can style like oem to kill more high pitch noise, but with 3" in/out to allow higher hp builds to flow. (like the Apexi Noir style) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apexi-Noir-T...hYk5QV&vxp=mtr Last edited by 2slofouru; 06-11-2017 at 07:21 PM. |

Chris, just sent another message regarding the spoolinator kit. Forgot to ask, can you provide the reverse outlet / passenger facing gtx3576r Gen2 in the kit? Also, would it clear the engine case in that orientation?
I'd like to face the outlet in the passenger direction to more easily route the tubing and give room for my normal rear facing 2.5i manifold and TB. The TB is drive by cable so it needs cable and bracket room. |
