I'm confused, the SS is already out a year ago with a top speed of 267 and 2.5mil. That article is dumb or old specially saying the old speed is 259 which is incorrect.

If they want to build a real car strip the SS to bare metal (CF) with 1 racing seat. That should knock a few hundred pounds off and liven it up some more.

Proof that uber rich just want something overdramatic to show off their wealth, as opposed to something genuinely beautiful. The thing looks like a cockroach, albeit one with an enormous road presence.

On second thought, a cockroach this big is bound to have an enormous road presence. Kinda like GEICO Gecko vs. Godzilla.

Yes, I get the incredible engineering that went into this thing. I still think it's ugly.

For 2.5m you can buy a personal Jet and have the same top speed with no traffic and some actual range.

This for example is expected to be around 2m when delivered...and looks twice as sexy to me.

The first one was grossly underpowered. I hope they address this with the new model.

But it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

I'd rather they work on the low rent interior.

I've always taken issue with this phrase. I agree with it up to a point... you can get to the limits of a slow car much faster than a fast car.

On a highway, the fast car is car I'd want to have... to overtake the slow left lane hogs. You're already by them on the right before they have the reaction time (and power) to speed up and try to block you. (Like on the 2 lane portion of the Mass Pike)

Rumor has it they're shooting for a top speed of 280+. possibly targeting 288mph.

1600hp and about 500lbs less...

If I had $2.5M lying around and already had a ZondaR & AgeraR; I would take this over a standard Veyron.

The standard car and SS are outstanding cars. This new version, with a 288mph top speed, is a fantastic display of what a manufacturer will do to show its devotion to lunacy.

The 0-60 time is also irrelevant.
0-100mph is just a tad more exciting.
Back when cars struggled to that speed, maybe that was a good measurement.
