Default New Headunit a bit too wide to fit...what now???

Just installed my brand new 03 Panasonic 783U headunit. The only problem is that when reinstalling the silver plastic instrument panel cover thing, I noticed it wont fit because the HU is about .3cm too wide on each side...ARGHHH!

what are my options now? The car is leased so I am figuring just sand it down a bit and buy a new plastic thing in 3 years?? cant be too much $$, right?

any ideas??? feel free to email/AIM me...

THANKS

They are not too expensive.
I'd buy it now though, who knows what the availability will be in three years.

Did the headunit have a plastic mounting ring around the front of it? If so, you can remove it and it will fit fine, mine was like that, removed the trim ring and fits perfect.

That trim ring is not meant to be used on a Subaru. Remove it along with any bracket or clip that holds it to the radio. It will look just fine without it.
