Has anyone "reinforced" the pre '04 rear sway bar mounts?
I was just curious if anyone has reinforced their OEM mounts? What did you do and any pictures?
I know the '04+ mounts are heavier duty (and cheap), but why buy something, when you can fix it for free? Thanks!

They`re only like $30 or something like that for the mounts and kit from subaru brand new. I say just buy them.

Thanks, but I already knew that...
I'm curious if anyone's modified the OEM ones? |

It would be easy enough to do if you had some flat plate and a welder around.

i did on my 03 car. never took pics, but just took some flat 1/8" steel and welded a new plate to the bottom and to the sides. never failed after that.

I welded two pieces of 1/8 inch steel to the sides of mine. I bought a 2.5x1/8x36 inch strip of metal for like $5. I cut a few pieces that would cover the voids in the sides of them and welded them on. Then I painted them. It took me like 30min to do and I only payed $5. I think it was well worth it. I have been running a 24mm rear bar for over 2 years and have had no problems with it. I'm sorry though, I don't have any pictures of what I did.

It's not a waste of time for those of us that own welders and have more time than money.
