GC suspension on a 2004
Yes I searched...
I have the chance to get the full suspension setup from a 2001 RS sedan. But I'm really skeptical it will work. I was told that I could change out the tophats and get new camber bolts and then it should work. The set up is: "KYB AGX Adjustable 4 way front 8 way rear shocks, 5 Zigen R-Rate Springs! " It would come with everything even the top hats, basically he is gutting the car to make a race car and he would give me everything. Any ideas? Should I pounce on this, its local and only 350 bucks. -Jeff Edit: I have an 2004 RS

You should be using new-age impreza parts (wrx, sti, its all compatible) in your 2004. You need to be worried that anything for the other generation will not have the proper lengths, stiffness, damping and strut geometry for your car. While stuff will potentially bolt in, thats where the compatibility really ends.

At the very least the rear of the car would sit lower with the old style struts. There were many people that put pre 2002 AGX's on their 2002+ Imprezas and "made them work", but since properly fitting parts are out now you should probably skip them.

to fit the older suspension on a 02-03 wrx, all thats needed to change is the rear top hats

Some say "No it wont work" or "you just need to change tophats or get camber bolts" Anyone confirm this? -Jeff |

I've personally used coilovers for the gc on my gd chassis. The top hats in the rear are different. The mounts for the brake lines and other things are a little off as well
