2004 WRX 16g-4EAT
Plays well with traffic

Default WI: 2004 WRX Premium Pkg, auto trans, 44k miles, $12,500/offer? (price drop)

For sale: 2004 WRX Premium Package located in Madison Wisconsin

Price: $14,000 New price: $12,500/offer?

VIN: JF1GD29644H504179 (Current CarFax report available - I will email it as a PDF attachment to interested buyers if requested.)

Own tomorrow’s “barn find” today. This car is rust-free, ultra-low mileage, and one of only 869 WRX Premium sedans built with automatic transmissions in 2004.

The premium package includes things like a moonroof, heated front seats, power windows & door locks, power/heated side mirrors, rear defrost. This car also has the factory premium sound system with AM/FM/Cassette/6-CD player, Auto Dimming mirror/compass, and armrest extension.

Color: San Remo Red

Original 1-owner, adult driven, ultra clean

Currently has only 44,890 miles (no, that’s not a typo)

Exterior has a few minor dings and chips in the paint. But there is absolutely no rust on the body anywhere.

Interior is a perfect 10. Smoke-free, pet-free, stain-free. No visible wear at all.

Comes with 2 sets of tires/rims. Dedicated summer tires are Firestone Fire Hawk 225/50/16s on near mint stock rims. The summer tires are in great shape with about 15k miles on them. Even though the car has seen very little winter use, it comes with a set of winter tires. (Dunlop SP Winter Sport 205/55/16 on badly curbed aftermarket rims.) The rims aren't pretty but they're still serviceable and the tread on the Dunlops is absolutely like new.

Mod List:
- STI hood scoop (color matched by the dealership)
- Factory gauge pack (Boost/Voltage/Oil Temp) installed by the dealership
- Cobb Access Port Version 1 (w/pro tune by P&L Automotive – 230whp/18psi on 93oct)
- Cobb Down Pipe w\cat
- PDE Flex Style Up Pipe
- Borla Hushback with ceramic coated mid-pipe
- 4EAT Valve Body modified by IPT
- ProTorque Street/Strip torque converter (4,100rpm stall speed)
- Hayden 676 Rapid Cool Trans Cooler
- Hotchkis F&R Street Swaybars w/Kartboy rear endlinks
- Revlabs Quick Rack 12.5:1 ratio steering rack
- TD05H-16G turbo from Deadbolt Speed (ported, polished, ceramic coated)
- TurboXS Hyperflow Top Mount Intercooler
- UR600cc fuel injectors from Ultimate Racing
- 255lph fuel pump from Walbro
- Braided SS brake lines from Goodridge
- WeatherTech floor liners

Some nearly new stock items that come with it:
- Downpipe (taken off at 3k miles)
- Catback exhaust (taken off at 1k miles)
- Heat shields (taken off at 2k miles)
- Air splitters (original & Process West)
- F & R Sway Bars (taken off at 5k miles)
- Fuel pump (taken off at 7.5 k miles)
- Intercooler (taken off at 7.5k miles)
- Also comes with 12 genuine Subaru oil filters/crush rings (new in the box)

Items serviced at dealership in the last 5k miles/2yrs
At 39.5k miles:
o Air-bag & control-arm replacement (factory recalls)
o Cabin air filter replacement
o Brake fluid replacement
o Spark Plugs & Fuel Filter replacement
o V-belt & A/C belt replacement
o Air filter replacement
o F & R differential fluids replaced
At 42k miles:
o Cold weather gas leak repaired (line to fuel rail)
o Oil cooler O-ring leak repaired
o Oil & Filter changed
o Trunk lock replaced
At 43K miles:
o Diagnosed Power Steering leak (high pressure line loosened up - repaired)
o Passenger-side valve cover leak (not repaired scheduled for repair 9/18)
o Passenger-side front CV boot torn - CV not “clicking” yet (not repaired)

There are two other issues I want potential buyers to be aware of.

The first is a tuning issue - a slight hesitation right at throttle tip-in. Any qualified Cobb Access Port Pro-Tuner could probably fix it, but I haven't bothered to have it done.

The second issue concerns the valve body in the transmission. When parked for more than several hours (like all day at work or over night), it experiences a slow pressure loss. Consequently when you first begin to move, you might feel the transmission slip just a little until the pressure builds. It's probably a bad solenoid. You can easily avoid the issue however either by accelerating gently for the first several car lengths or by simply letting it run for 10-20 seconds to build pressure before driving away.

Neither of these two issues have to be fixed. Both have existed for more than 10 years now. I just wanted people to be informed in advance.

Thanks. Yeah, I think I recall my wife mentioning the OCD thing once or twice over the years. . .

Mid-week bump - still looking for offers.

BTW if this car isn't THE one for you, I still have one CarFax look up left on a package I purchased and it's good until 8/26/18. If you're looking at something else, shoot me a PM with the VIN and I'll gladly send you the report.

Thanks for looking.

500+ looks so far and no 4EAT-hater comments or low ball offers? Nobody begging me to sell off the stock parts? My how times have changed.

Mind you, it keeps the thread clean so I'm not complaining. But I will need to make room in the garage eventually. I thought this would be the most obvious place to find a new owner. But I suppose at some point I may have to shop it around outside of the "NASIOC family".

P.S. The CarFax offer is still available to anyone who can make use of it.
