2.0 with small 16G pump gas 12.73@110
I ran a 12.73 @ 110 last night at Cecil county dragway.
02 WRX 116,000 with a slowboy small 16G on pump gas tuned tuned by me. I think that was fairly decent. Might have a little more in it still. I was spinning the tires on every run. I actually had rubber in the r/f wheelwell it was spinning so bad. I did hook it up good one run and had a better 60' time but couldn't get it into 3rd. It did go a 12.88 missing 3rd totally lifting and getting back in it, so maybe a 12.5 is possible? The original trans is starting to show it's age. Going to be time for new synchos any maybe gears soon. 110 mph at 3200 lbs works out to around 320-330 hp at the wheels, not too bad. Anyone how fast the small 16G can go on a 2.0? I plan on either meth soon or possibly a swap to the ebay special OBX "green" turbo, just to see if it works or explodes. I want to go high 11's eventually. Timeslips-

Nice!! I'd say you're right on target. As for how fast it CAN go, that's hard to say. That turbo CAN see 11s with enough mods and high enough octane.
That's a great run though, 110 tells me you're making good power. My best run, with a 1.81 60ft, was 12.6 @ 109 with a little bigger turbo, so if you're going 110 I'd say a 12.5, maybe even a 12.4, isn't out of the question. |

That would be tough, but feasible. I think your best bet would be TGV deletes, EWG, and then 100% meth. Pull the passenger seat and spare tire setup, and I think you have a sleepy 11 sec car |

Good job man If you search under my name, I had a very similar set up with the big 16g though...I had the car run 12.3@110 quite a few times on the stock tranny. The tranny didn't live very long like that, I was launching hard enough to pull mid 1.7 60's pretty regularly.
Good runs man that is a cool set up. Trey |

I figure the car makes around 320-330 whp from plugging in the 3200 lb weight and 110 mph into an online calculator. |

It's the original 2.0 never been apart with 116,000 miles. I have old logs on my laptop from when I was tuning it. I have to figure out how to post them here. I can post them other places as an attachment. |

I'm on a 2.0L with a small 16G pushing 24 psi, header, 850cc squirters, E85, 3" turboback, walbro and I'm about a second and 8 mph slower (4850ft elevation, DA's around 6500 ft.) than you in a car that weighs 2960 with me in it. Would you say timing of 13* @ peak torque ramping to 22* up high? Last edited by DSM_Outback; 10-05-2008 at 12:06 AM. Reason: added my altitude |

I don't even know where the peak torque is actually. It's probably fairly low, it makes enough tourque down low to spin the tires pretty well. But I'd say it's 15-16 degrees there.
Keep in mind the tracks in my area are close to sea level. If you at high altitude it will be a lot slower. Quote:

I run my [email protected] w/ 1.813 60' here at Brainerd Int. Raceway (NHRA track) with 90* temps and 1200' elevation here in Minnesota. The car and I weigh at 3100lbs and I run a JDM STi 6spd. I wonder what a 5spd would do in the 1320???? hehehhe and ALSO 50* temps... OMG!!!! Awesome times BTW!!!! |

Awesome! Congrats on getting it sorted and running well. You planning to be at Etown on Friday?
EDIT: Just read a few posts above and I would love to see what this thing could do on 100% meth in the 25psi range. I would definitely say low 12's - high 11's on a great run in the right weather. |

I'm planning on going to Etown friday as of now.
I hope I can shift it. The sychro's are getting worn out. Not from the power, just normal high mileage wear. I'll get around to fixing it soon, I don't have time to pull the trans and split the case to put baulk rings in before friday. It does seem to have self healed a little and is shifting better now. |

Ran a little better last night [email protected]
The weather conditions weren't as good as last week and the mph shows that. It still had lots of tire spin on most runs, this was the one that hooked up good. The trans is really on the way out now. I can probably go 12.5 if I get to the track with really perfect conditions like in the 40's with a barometer of 31. I got to the track late and didn't get to take the spare and all the junk out of the car so it was probably 75lbs heavier than last week. |
