Default STi side splitters install

Hey guys I just repainted my side splitters, and I can't remember how to reinstall. I'm pretty sure I've got the brackets right, but where does this plastic piece at the bottom of the picture go?

I may have missed a post, but I didn't see anything regarding that piece. Seems like most of the posts were people installing the splitters on WRXes or wagons. I'm just trying to reinstall on my STi, so I don't need to cut tabs or clips or anything, I just can't figure out how that plastic piece fits in the equation with the two metal brackets??

good lord. is this your car? did you take it apart or ????

line up splitter

insert black plastic pop rivets into and through designated holes

line up inner bracket

secure with hardware

that better?

it's really... REALLY not difficult.

Well, with a little bit of ingenuity and about $3 in fasteners from the bin at Lowe's, my splitters are on and very secure. I never did figure out where that plastic piece goes, but it's plenty tight, even without it.

your bumper should be cut/drilled on the side for the splitters. After that, just pop the pieces in, go under it, put the bolts in and youre done

No one seemed to understand the question I was asking. Oh well, I've got them on nice and snug, thank you everyone for the replies.
