If nothing else, contact Endless Details down in orange... When I got my tires mounted on my wheels the owner was raving about the shop he uses and they're ability to do stretched tires... Want to say it was like $100 to do my 245/35s on an 18x9.5

Evb might do it, greco might do it, goodyear might do it, mavis in brewster might do it, sears might do it, those are the first 5 places i could think of, call them up and ask but a 205/40 on a 8.5 is alot of stretch and most places won't bother.....one of my buddies mounts and dismounts tires all the time for drifting at his home he might be willing to do it

I'd check a VW forum and ask there. They do that stuff all day.

I just thought of it

Speedsport tuning in danbury behind the airport off miry brook road, they work on euro's all day long lots of racing porsches too, they're prolly the best bet in danbury

Edit: another thought; theres a place that does euro tuning over by napa on triangle street/lee mac avenue....they might have experience as well though they seem more high end orientated

Any decent places that paint rims near Danbury. New to area. I don't want to do it myself as I'm OCD with paint and I'll go crazy.

There's a place on Sand Pit road that repairs/paints wheels. I'll find the name/number when I get to work.

+1 on getting them powdercoated... There's a place by the dmv that does it but I've never talked to someone who went there... Ctsubie has a couple powdercoat vendors in the vendor section but I think they are some what far

Here it is:

Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists

It's worth a visit. They're close and I've talked with them before, they seem decent. It's not just for repairs, they'll re-color your wheels also.

I know I'm a bit far from you guys but I can help with Powdercoating and wheel repair. My buddy owns a shop in Yonkers. Not the cheapest but definitely quality work. I've done some work for some of the guys in the Westchester thread.

thanks for the input guys. Yah i have the stock BBS rims on the sti that i want to paint flat black. I actually been to the alloy wheel repair to get the one rim repaired after owning the car for a month or two. Was not happy with myself to say the least. Yah they quoted me $125 a wheel to paint which i think is too expensive. Powdercoating i heard weakens the BBS rims due to the temperature they use but not entirely sure. We'll see.

I believe it's aluminum wheels that could weaken.

Anyone use these hose clamps before?

Koehler/EZ hose clamp

Looks easier than using a regular hose clamp and screw driver. Also says they can't be loosened without the key which is good. Just wondering if anyone has used them and has anything negative to say?

just becareful. they strip out fairly easily due to more leverage.

Do not powder coat forged wheels under any circumstances.
