Default Question: Those with JDM headlights and McCulloch HIDs...plug and play?

Hey guys, just wondering if the McCulloch HID kits are plug and play with the JDM headlights? Did you need to drill a hole into the headlight housing or splice any wires? Also, whats the color on these guys, any blue at all? Thanks in advance!

Default JDM H1?

Does the JDM Headlight uses H1? I've seen one kind that uses H1 and the cap is closed. For HID installation, you'll need to have wires from bulb to ballast and unless you can reroute that through an existing opening, you'll have to drill a hole on the cap to let the plugs out.

I have the EDM lights (same as JDM but with correct light pattern). The low beam is an H1 bulb and I ordered the McCulloch kit with an H1 bulb. There is a plastic "cup" that seals the bulb and housing with wires passing through it. I had to drill the hole a little larger to pass the bulb through. The bulb wires can be sealed with the seal that comes with the light or the bulb (I cannot remember which). Pretty easy to modify and when finished it looks like it is straight for the factory.

yup, just as Brian mentioned, except that I still have my damm LHD (Lucky Brian), just drill the hole on that plastic cup bigger and use the provided rubber groomet. Also for a clean install u'll need this:

in most cases (varies with manufactor) the 4600k are much brighter than the 6000k where as the 6000k are more blueish purple than the 4600k i havent seen any 5000k series yet to know the difference but guessing on the results of the 46000k and 6000k the 5000k set should have more output than the 6000 with less of a blue/purple beam

Thanks guys. Zacek, where can I get the 6000K McCulloch's? Or anybody else who knows...

By the way, are those seals REALLY water tight? Sounds a little scary to have to go invasive on major money lights...

Does anyone know of any HIDs that don't require that kind of surgery?

Thanks!
Jim
