Default Engine noise

Hey guys I have a 2014 wrx hatch.
So the last couple weeks now I have noticed my engine has been making a really weird noise on the fist cold start of the day -9C with a -15C windchill and goes away for the rest of the day and comes back.to me it really sounds like rod knock.I am just really worried. I did have Subaru of Canada put a new long block in the car a year ago from a spun bearing

What kind of a noise? Is it a faint high pitch whine or something?

Any chance you can link a video or sound clip? Easier for everyone to judge that way.

I wonder if that's an idler pulley, because it seems to make the noise as the engine comes down from the rev ?

No guaranty the dealership replaced anything other then the just the minimum .

Damn
Sounds horrible
I would poke around with a mechanic stethoscope with buddy on the throttle pedal
I agree with Max
Pulley or something that gets louder when engine goes up in RPM's

Those stethoscopes are $20 but a long screw driver with an your ear on the end works the same
