Default For those who have gone from WRX/STi to EVO... opinion needed

I am considering EVO as my next car to replace Cobb stage2 WRX. For those who have made similar decision in the past, how has your experience been with the vehicle in terms of reliability, quality and performance? What is common weakness found on EVO compared to WRX or STi?

I believe I can get a stock 05 model for around $27500 out the door before tax and other fees. I would love to get a used MR, but they just cost too much.

Thanks in advance!

EVO's eat stock clutches. Other than that, they are awesome and I would have one now but it would be too dumb for me money wise, so I'll have to wait.

A good friend of mine has an Evo, and it's a nice car. I like it a lot, but the interior is lame (except for the seats). I would also say that the suspension is a little too stiff for everyday driving. I wouldn't want to commute in that car.

Like poeple will tell you. the stock clutch will go if you launch red lights and are putting down big HP numbers. The factory paint is pretty thin, so invest in a clear bra. The ride is stiffer than an STi but its not bad (evo is my daily commuter car). The stock advans stick to the road like a mother but dont last very long. I have put 20k on my tires and am about ready to buy some new ones. Hmmm, what else. With only a 14ga gas tank (good for about 340 miles) it feels like im always filling up. All these are minor gripes. I love my car!

How do the evos compare safety wise to a wrx or sti? Ive been intersted in one for a while, but I read somewhere that evo drivers dont tend to walk away from accidents. Lost my wrx in a bad crash in which I ended up with zero scratches so safetys a important one for me.
