:bump:

Since its clear there arent quite that many 2011 owners ...
Ive seen reviews claiming the 2011 sti took an evolution towardsnusing parts from the spec C, is that true?
Likewise, would you all say the hype is true and the 2011 actually improved from the '10 model?

Thanks, just looking for model specific info beyond whats found in the manifesto.

The sound is subjective. Plus your engine will run much more efficient. Id rather sound like a Honda and have a happy engine than keep the subie rumble.

NEVER dump the clutch and if you do don't expect to get anywhere quickly. Personal experience

Whatcha guys think about paint-matched front lips for our cars?

I've seen 04-07's with them. I kinda like them. I also kinda like the obvious front lip look with them being carbon fiber or black.

There is nothing wrong with it. It comes down to the owner. I think it looks good either way.

The only downside to a painted lip that i can think of would be it chipping. Ive only had my lip for a few weeks and its already taken a pounding. For what its worth, i left mine black.

There's probably an FAQ on this, but since you brought it up. What is the easiest/smoothest way to pseudo-launch our cars quickly?

I'm assuming slip means gradualy letting off untill it engages, as opposed to dumping?

I wouldn't slip it too much, you'll roast it with the rpms up there. As he said 4-5k is good, and let off the clutch quickly without completely dumping it if that makes sense

Right! You want to avoid just abruptly releasing the clutch, also referred to as "side-stepping" it.

Thanks, I look forward to trying this next spring. One of my dunlops blew out recently and I had to throw some new blizzaks on early. Has anyone had any luck getting one of these new tires warranty replaced?
Also my SPT boost gauge just started flickering last night...

Everyone has had trouble with the those gauges. Most of them do not work. Id check your connections.

It'll die. Mine died earlier this year and I got it replaced under warranty. Apparently it's a 2010 SPT gauge that isn't supposed to work, but does, even better than the 2011 ones that are supposed to be mounted. My replacement 2010 one has been fine, I dim it almost every night when I go driving late and no flickering yet.

Is Kendall your local Subie dealer in Fairbanks?

I grew up in Fairbanks, Wife and I just bought our house out here last year for lack of options. And the NP FF closed down years ago, but there's still one in Fairbanks with awesome cheessteaks.

Yeah, I haven't even gone there yet once though. Suppose I have to now.

Not for the car, but the stock Dunlops come with their own warranty.

if they fail from a defect, not if you just got a flat tire from road debris
