On top of the ultimate sandwich, I was rear ended 3 times in that thing. 2 of those times I was pushed into the car in front of me.

Cylinder 2 woes continued.
Everything was still there. I worked on pressing the plug into the pack. Nothing moved like it was out of place or anything. But that car has been running better ever since. Going on 5 days now. While I had my fingers crossed on that, I got the rear BBK on. Front caliper vs rear caliper If they look the same size, that's because they are. Getting the kit on wasn't that bad. But it did suck a little bit. In the midst of all that. There was an AutoX event. I'm kinda out of tires. Friend of mine wanted to go. We codrove his bugeye. Our best runs were insanely close. He was ahead of me by .051 of a second. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:54 AM. |

Where were we?
With the brakes kinda sorted. (I need not street pads) I started digging though my tires... Got a set together that matched. They stacked kinda high. Mounted them up anyway. Front is close... Rear is closerer. If I'm honest, these kinda scare the **** out of me. But it's ok! The clutch started to do weird things... With that going on, I didn't want to race the car much until I had a new clutch. With the down time, I found a spacer and decided to try all my wheels. No love for the RPF1s. 6ULs fit though. And so did the stockers! The stock wheels fitting really blew my mind. And that's 10 pictures... Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:51 AM. |

Went driving through the mountains for Mother's day. (Met mom at a winery up there) Found out that there is a photographer that likes to hang out and take pictures of the cars that go by. He got some shots of me.

Even with the clutch hurt. I went back to the track. Opportunity to go to Sonoma for the first time.
Parked with my coworker. Believe it or not, we were in the same class. I was really not on competitive tires. I was grided P33. I was way down the grid. The grid cones even stopped at 29. I did... not well. I was way off the pace. Like, 10 seconds off the podium. Toward the end of the 4th session, I had a problem. Things got a little toasty. Had to tow the bitch home. Learned that the tow strap works. Well, I didn't take it home. Mike at GST insisted I take it to him. I dropped it off there. I was expecting the worst. Reality, fan ate the hose. Another OE hose is in it now. I have silicone on the way. I think I got a good picture for next week. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:46 AM. |

Sonoma was a lot of fun though. I was able to bang in some pretty consistent lap times. First time ever at this track. My goal was 2:05.
Car was running well until it wasn't. Braking balance is much better than before. It's still a little forward. But I do have slightly more aggressive pads in the front. (BP-20 front, BP-10 rear) Even pads might make it better. It was tricky though. The other cars were taking huge braking zones which caused me to be on my brakes for too long. My fluid boiled pretty bad. No real fade from the pads though. Kinda surprising but makes sense. I'm on very street tires. Should have some more pictures and videos soon. Although Mike put in a new hose, it came with stern instructions to get silicone hoses and switch to distilled and install the factory undertray.
I gathered some things. When swapping the hoses, I learned that the replacement wasn't going to last long anyway. But, new hoses on. System flushed and filled with distilled and water wetter. And the undertray is back on. I also bled the brakes. No cool pictures of that. Did all of that Friday night. Saturday was a throwback meet bbq with some friends. Sunday I was at Willow Springs for the next round of GTA. I parked in a good spot as almost all the other Subarus were nearby. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:41 AM. |

Second round of GTA was fun. Enthusiast AWD was the largest class with 7 competitors.
This was my first time at Big Willow. It's an interesting track. Definitely a track where experience pays off. First session, I ran a 1:44.952. Second session was much hotter and I wasn't able to improve. Work wanted me in Boston Monday morning. I had to leave at lunch to be able to make my flight. I don't think I would have improved in the later sessions anyway. I ended up finishing 6th. I was at least able to collect some points and I am 2nd in the series. Some pictures are already beginning to surface. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:37 AM. |

When I got home from GTA, I noticed something not great.
Kinda frustrating. Apparently hoes will do that. Even if they are DBA. Ordered new rotors. Got them swapped out. Now my front brakes match my rear brakes a little better. This should also not crack like total pieces of ****. With the cracked crap off, I was able to get a better look at how bad they are. I found it interesting that there we no cracks on the back sides. On the driver's side, there were 2 cracks. On the passenger side, there were 4 cracks. All going through hoes. I took a few pictures and made an album: https://imgur.com/a/H0bqvYL But the worst part... THESE ****ING PIECES OF **** HAD ALMOST NO WEAR ON THEM! The problem is fixed... moving on. I also got something exciting. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:33 AM. |

Chugging along...
There was an AutoX event over the weekend. Master plan was to borrow a friend's wheels and codrive in STH (his wheels/tires are small enough, none of mine are). Swap over to the slicks and try them out with fun runs. Plan failed when my buddy's wheels didn't clear my brakes. We ended up driving his car and left my car at home. After that, I threw in the towel and ordered a pair of 3mm spacers thinking I can use the spacers to get my stock wheels to clear. Got the spacers and still no love. At some point, I'll be changing the front brakes to a different kit and be able to run more wheels. Yesterday, I received some more puzzle pieces. Bummed they're not power. But the stock clutch has been having a hard time. Hopefully with this new clutch, this ridiculous fork, and the blast plates. I shouldn't have to worry about this stuff again. I'm excited. And then today, like, just now, GTA posted a video from Round 2 and I'M IN IT! Only kinda excited about that. Here's the full video; Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:30 AM. |

This car is consistently tearing it up.
Nice addition, always liked act clutch and the streetlight flywheel. It's not power but that lightweight flywheel will lighten up the rotating mass and help it rev easier. |

The car is rounding 120k. It's time to get things done. In addition to the pile of clutch bits, I got a set of spark plugs and dug up the SS lines that I had trouble with. Dropped the car off at RBMS Auto Care.
The car isn't perfect. Winston found some issues. First off, the coupler on the intercooler was melted. Dropping the transmission, one of the CV boots was leaking... After removing the flywheel, the main seal was also leaking. TOB looked pretty good IMO. Lots of dust and fibers in the bell housing. Clutch was used up pretty good. Blast plates installed on the transmission. With the spark plugs getting done, I also asked for a leakdown. The results are mind boggling... I can't believe it. Engine is extremely healthy. It really doesn't make any sense. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:26 AM. |

Did some things...
Found some small red wheels for STH shenanigans. Then flipped on some big pink wheels for ASP shenanigans. The pink wheels were fun. The red wheels are 17x8 with 235 R-S3 The pink wheels are 18x10 with 285 R1S All tires are really old. Some videos of the action; Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-18-2022 at 12:13 AM. |

Came across a post for an STi that was being parted out locally. I was able to nab some pieces from it.
I still need a few more pieces. But I'm excited to have all black interior. Also excited to have a not melted bumper. I'll probably be cutting up the melted bumper for some aero bits. Always need more taillights. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-17-2022 at 04:49 PM. |

Where to begin...
Ordered the rest of the pieces for the headliner. Just about ready to swap that in. Got around to changing the intercooler coupler. The old one was in really bad shape... Got the new tires mounted up. They're much wider than the old tires even being the same size. Even being mounted. New brake pads also came in. No pictures on those. It was pretty touch and go with them. Made it out for Global Time Attack ProAm Round 3 at Buttonwillow. Friend to a sweet picture before I went out. After one flying lap, the engine gave up the ghost... Luckily I had another talented friend following along on Facebook. My goal was 6th place. I did one lap and it was recorded. At the end of the day, it was good enough for 5th. Hooked it up to take it home. But of course my day wasn't over... Finally got home around 3am. Car is with my mechanic. Official diagnosis is pending. My money is on a spun bearing. Not sure what the plan is going to be yet. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-17-2022 at 04:47 PM. |

Car between the posts...
Engine out... Lots of oil in and around the intake. Some chunks in the pan... Well, there's the problem... At this time, the problem is a spun rod bearing on Cylinder #1. Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-17-2022 at 04:35 PM. |

Part ordering for rebuild has begun. Next few days should be exciting.
Teardown continues. Learned today that the pickup is clogged with rod bearing... Another has been ordered. Not stoked on that... Last edited by JourdanWithaU; 07-17-2022 at 04:32 PM. |
