JDM Forester Sport Gets a Turbo
I saw this news yesterday, but wanted to see a few more sites pick up on it before I shared it.

I have to assume it will come here at least in some trims of the Forester, Legacy and Outback. But they will most likely keep putting it the 2.5 in the Crosstrek through the end of this generation.

I hope they put the same 2.4 turbo we already have in the legacy, outback, and ascent. It already has more power and torque than the older xt, and it runs on regular fuel. if we do get wilderness versions of the forester and outback, I see them basing them off a off-road oriented onyx outback and reintroducing the turbo on a more off-road oriented forester sport.

Yeah these sub-2 liter engines make sense in countries with Liter Tax. I don't really see this CB engine coming stateside, but I think there's definitely room for the Forester XT to return. Especially if the WRX and STI are still only sedans.

I see the CB18 being more at home in a crosstrek and impreza sport not the forester.

Do I really need or want my Forester to go faster than it is now?
No.. I honestly wouldn't care. Thing is just a SUV for daily tasks and for that it does it very well already. |

This version isn't about going faster per say. It provides 40+ more torque and better fuel economy. While It makes 7hp less than the 2.5L NA engine. So can't say faster, but it will feel stronger and provide better fuel economy and most consumers like that.
