2003 WRX raised holes on floor rusted
Hi! I've gotten to the point where my car is nearly ready to go back together. when I pulled up my carpet and the sound deadening material, two holes appeared-- one under the driver's seat and one under the passenger seat side. Two rust circles that were glued to the carpet came up as I pulled. I could post pictures if there is more interest. I was wondering if these holes are important if the car were to freeze, or if I can just cut out the rust and use some sheet metal to make some replacement covers to weld in, weatherproof, and be done with it. Basically, are these holes important to anything, or are they just for the manufacturing process? Help would be very appreciated! Thanks.

More likely than not, there was a rubber-plug at each of those locations as a function of the manufacturing process. I would say to go ahead and patch each one with sheet-metal and make yourself happy.
