Sounds like the Honda Element! I saw a lot of Elements on the street that I was surprised when Honda killed it.

You can't overland and be an influencer without rugged cladding and raw dogging nature.

Some internet sleuths in another forum have concluded that the Wilderness package exterior bears a striking resemblance to the current trimwork on the Australian version of the Outback. Subaru really going back to the future on this one...

It's what all the soccer moms want.
Plus of a part has to be replaced/repaired, it's cheaper than having to repaint the whole thing. We're basically reverting back to old cars with rubber or chrome bumper beams. My first car was a Subaru Loyale sedan. One time my buddies and I were heading to lunch in separate cars and I was stopped at a light in front of them. As I was sitting there I suddenly felt a slight bump from the rear. I looked in my rear view and saw the faces of my buddies in their SUV behind me just cracking up because they had ever so slowly closed in on my rear bumper until they made contact. I'm not saying we should go back to unsightly bumper beams, but it certainly was nice to not care so much about the condition of my BUMPER when it got... BUMPED! |

So are they revealing just the outback version or will they also have a Foz version?

Meh. Unless they reveals something unexpected about the drivetrain, just meh!
I would think they'd shout from the mountaintops of Jersey if this thing had LSDs, or ANY LSD. |

For what this is likely going to cost, you'd be better off with a 4Runner for the same money if off-roading is truly your thing. The CVT alone makes it a non-starter for me.

I'm going to say that people with this on their mind WILL more likely get those types of vehicles. This is for the Subaru customer that does a lot; but, wants a bit more. |

I hate to think about cost too but will sell because it is plenty off-road capable for most. It looks the part with much better mpg than the 4Runner and actually be road comfortable, where 97.836% of these vehicles spend their lives.

I see enough jacked up and modded to the hilt Outbacks and Crosstreks out here in AZ that it just makes me wonder why bother? Start out with a better platform if that's truly what you want to do rather than throwing thousands of dollars at something that's a compromise.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aut...otos-facelift/ If we look at the spyshot photo of the forester we will recognize many wilderness features are missing. this car has no wilderness badging. It seems to have the difference in height and the skid plate, but it seems to be on regular tires, not specific all-terrain treads. this may simply be a mule to test increased height and the brand new eyesight x calibration. One other thing, if you really intend to go in the wilderness and up in the mountains with the added weight and gear, then reintroducing the turbo engine is the most logical choice due to the elevations you will be going. we await the real wilderness edition reveal
