Hey guys
I'm in the market for an aftermarket IC and I haven't seen much feedback on the Perrin. -PW is amazing, but pricey. -Spearco is oversized and has quality issues? -never enjoyed the lag from front mounts. I have the kit to bulletproof the factory piece which should be enough for my "needs", but I love my Perrin exhaust and everything else I've seen is top notch. Just curious... Thanks, Eric

Ya I was recently in the market for a bigger top mount, trying to avoid a fmic. The ow is the way to go its cheaper than most front mounts and just the quality and fitment will be worth the price. For me this was the only option all the others seemed to get bad reviews. I desired to stick with the stock top mount tho and keep my power goal below 350 so I don't actually have experience with any of the aftermarket tmics. But from research the pw is the way to go

The Perrin is good quality, but will still cost you around 700 bucks. As you seem to already know, the PW is the way to go for a TMIC. If your penny pinching the Perrin is a good option .... but IMO, why not just go with the best available and be done? |

Im happy with the process west |

I haven't seen the ETS for sale anywhere. I had one on my MS6 before I went front mount and loved it. I'll do some more looking around today

I remember seeing somewhere that the Perrin has fitment issues. More specifically hitting the master cylinder.
Also, I believe ETS only has IC's for the STI for 08-13. Save your pennies, go with the PW. |

I'm in the same boat and have done much research on this, if you're going to spend $700on the Perrin, why not just spend $800+ on the PW? I've been quoted the PW shipped for somewhere in the 8-900 range so I would just do it right and not risk it and put in a cpl extra hours of work for the PW.

Come to think of it, I have seen a photo of a used Perrin TMIC that had fin damage on the bottom side.
Hopefully not shooting myself in the foot.... there is a slightly used Spearco unit for sale here that I've been entertaining, but I've only read complaints about the whistling and the massive size. That got me thinking about the Perrin. My car is a DD and I don't have any immediate intentions of trying to make a bajillion HP. It bothers me that after an 18 minute highway commute, I pull into Starbucks and can see heat coming out of my hood scoop. I may be better served by getting a turbo and dp blanket and doing the bulletproof mod. |

Since your undecided, just do what you mentioned and think it over some while you research ... Can never go wrong with that. |

I recently had the Perrin TMIC installed, $720 for the part from the shop and about $80 in labor. Nice aftermarket intercooler for the price and was nice along with the other mods, intake/exhaust/bov.

When i had my perrin, i struggled for like days to get it fit, until i was like screw this junk and sold it and bought the PW
idk why the perrin wasnt fitting. All i know is it is BIG and it probably required u to put it in at a certain angle or something. I never figured out why it didnt fit.... it was just either touching the throttle hose and not the turbo oR touches the turbo and dont touch the hose lol.... |

It would be great if ETS made TMIC for your platform (it is in the works from what I can see on FB). Their work is fantastic and is what I am running on my STi.
A bonus of the ProcessWest from what I know is that it will allow you to run STi style turbos without much more work which opens the door to many more turbos. But they are $$$. |

Just save up a bit more for the pw tmic, the perrin has fitment problems and uses the stock shroud where the pw comes with a new one that fits it perfectly. If you ever decided to upgrade your turbo all you need to change the intercooler hose.

ive had my perrin for about 3 years at least. only issue i had was it hitting the slave cylinder. perrin made me a spacer for the turbo flange. its all good now. underhood temps are real nice with the addition of my ptp turbo blanket. that works very well. if i had to buy again, i would buy the process west setup. i just like that better and the hood splitter is a nice touch.
