Smile Saying goodbye to a dear friend and hello to a new one.

I've posted elsewhere that my 14 BRZ Limited was totaled back in March of this year. It was this time (early November) 5 years ago that I was desperately unhappy with owning my 13 STI (financially). I had test driven the BRZ in July 2013 and fallen in love but having just bought the STI had felt like I needed to stick with it. But come November I just couldn't stand it.

And trading it in underwater though I was, was the best decision ever.

So when the car was totaled (I was not the one driving and no one was injured), I was devastated. I wanted to drive that car till the wheels fell off. It was not to be.

Well, I just got my 2019 WRX Limited as I was told I could not buy another 2 door.

So, only now do I think I can truly say "goodbye" to the BRZ.

Here's two of my best shots of her (I was too busy driving her to stop doing so to take pictures) when she was still less than a year old.

Morning after I brought her home to from the dealership . 11 miles on the odometer:

June of 2014. 'Dat Azz!

Goodbye dear friend . May you rest easy in reclamation.

And hello to you, my gorgeous blue ugly beauty! May we have many happy years of driving and commuting.

1st day of ownership. Weather was rotten and it was after dark when I got done at the dealership. Man I love seeing all those zeroes on the odo.

Hello darkness my old.... Screw that! Light up the night, baby!

Can't see it really well but those are Motegi 17x8 +45 wheels with winter performance 225/50R17s on there. Stock wheels and summer tires are bagged in the back. Stock wheels still have plastic over the spokes (can't see here).

'Dat AWD azz! Hopefully plates will arrive in a week or so.

Second day of ownership. Better shot of the winter wheel setup. It has only a 3mm overall diameter increase from stock 18" wheel/tire diameter. Also, nothing makes it down our road without getting filthy dirty very quickly. Nothing.

It can baby!

Hey man,

Sorry to hear about the BRZ, the emotional attachment to cars is real! Congrats on the WRX, looks nice! Hopefully this fills the void!

It certainly will once I get get the shifter mods done. Putting in the brass bushing tomorrow. Boomba will come later once I see if there's any Black Friday deals. Then I'll see if I want a weighted knob.

It's a very sweet car. It's completely different from the brz so it could never truly fill that void, just like an M3 couldn't either. But life is life, and at least it have a great sports car again.
