Default Blackberry 8800 coming Feb 20th!

So it seems:

http://www.blackberrycool.com/2007/02/06/003508/

Quote:
BlackBerry 8800c coming February 20
Stop holding your breath and start baiting it. An email was just sent out from RIM's head offices inviting folks to take part in an exclusive event put being held on February 20 hosted by Research In Motion's President, Co-CEO and Founder Mike Lazaridis and Kent Mathy, President of Cingular's Business Markets Group, and there'll peptalk from former New York Giants star Tiki Barber, too. What's happening at the event?

You are invited to join Research in Motion***174; and Cingular, now the new AT&T, as we reveal new solutions for enterprise productivity and extend the service, expertise and applications that you have come to expect from us.

Mark February 20, 2007 on your calendar for this exclusive event.

If this is anything similar to the email that was sent out when the BlackBerry 8700's surfaced, guess what, folks? February 20 is the day. Big thanks to Stinsonddog for the tip (and be sure to check out his tips here).

The term is "bated" breath... not baited.

And Blackberry sucks.

Rumor has it that Cingular/AT&T version will debut without Wifi and camera.

I have an older BB 7280 that I have been using for a while now with Cingular. Can I just get a new one and switch out the SIM card thingee from old to new and it will work? or is it not that simple?

I have two friends with the 8125 and both love it. I have the qtek version and my only gripes are the weak camera and VERY rarely it gets a bit slow. Push mail with exchange FTW. No blackberry server required.

Oh, and I have used wifi like 3 times in over a year. The cell data plan is generally fast enough.

You think that blackberry is signifantly smaller? Could be-I'd have to see it. I dont think there are any good+small pda phones out. yet. It's hard to have a big screen and a keyboard in something small. You have to compromise for form or function...for now.

Supposedly it's supposed to be the size of the Pearl or smaller. I can live with that.

Yeah no kidding. My gf just got the Pearl, it seems OK. But $50/month for the Blackberry plan is nuts. I'd use it more for PDA purposes than for Blackberry services.

Their Exchange server support, or more notably, their lack thereof... is killing them in the small/medium business market. We just ordered 12 Treo 700wx's for our office, and had looked at the Blackberry.... but $4000 for the software, or having to use some backward-ass hack to push the email out.... that scared our CFO off.

Exactly.... why does Cingular, eh, rather Ma Bell continue introducing new products WITHOUT 3G data support after investing billions in network upgrades?

Are they ashamed of their new network technology or something?

I get ~100k speeds on mine...which is more than enough for email. It works ok for video streaming. I get occasional chop but not bad.

I think it is more of blackberry not introducing.

there is a 3g
razr
blackjack
8525
sync
treo 750
and at least 2 other LG's

blackberry didnt have an edge capable device until after years of staying at GPRS.

I think they're really missing out on the tethered modem market, without 3G support. I know our corporate users have been asking for it and we're a BlackBerry only shop.
