Meet Loosie(very dangerous but funny story why. I bought her as a BONE stock wrx. And the plan WAS to keep it that way.

I began driving Loosie daily and after about a month or so and I began hearing a knocking noise coming from the rear of the car. So I jacked up the car one day looked under it, rocked the rear wheels to see if those where loose and everything SEEMED to be fine. I continued to drive the car and the noise persisted when I sped up the noise sped up when I slowed down the noise slowed down. I took it to a shop they said they couldn’t find the issue so I kept driving.


One night girlfriend and I went down to Manhattan to get Halaal food and on the way back home as I got on the Henry Hudson highway the noise got noticeably WORSE. So I pulled to the slow lane and put my hazards on and dropped down to about 25mph hoping to get home safely..

Girlfriend was asleep(car rides puts her to sleep especially if it’s past 11pm lol). Out of nowhere I hear a loud BOOOOOM sound and the car felt floaty for the lack of a better term. I look to my left and there goes my left rear wheel speeding by me like it just hit FULL BOOST. After about five cars almost rear ending my poor Loosie one SUV stopped and helped us get to the next exit. Along the way to the exit driving on three wheels(gotta love awd) I saw my fourth wheel by the middle divider I had to stop and run across to get it. I felt like I was playing frogger.. except a lot more dangerous

Anyway long story short we made it off the highway and my friend came and lended me his jack, half inch gun and a couple lug nuts to put back on my wheel.

THE DAMAGE







I ended up buying a rear hub for a forester and a wrx trailing arm and sent it to a shop and everything was fixed several hundred dollars later.


I purchased Perrin motor mounts, transmission mount and a pitch stop mount. I installed them and for the most part the motor doesn’t shake as much when driving or letting off the gas which I love now.

After fixing the car I wanted to drive back down to time square to take a few pics

I threw a banner on in honor of a friend that passed away this year and I love how it came out






Also put yellow tint on the Fog lights

The sloppy shifter feel felt terrible so I put in a Cobb short shifter and a Grimm speed weighted shift knob.

Shifting feels much better but I still want to buy shifter bushings next

I will be ordering Whiteline 22mm Front and Rear sway bar and end links before the year is over. Also coilovers along with wheels and tires before next summer so stay tuned for updates

Finally got a set of Whiteline front and rear Sway bars with the whiteline end links. Makes the car feel so much better and planted around turns.

Also picked up a Cobb AP

Good start. I've always wanted a white wagon, maybe someday.

I feel ya on the wheel, I had my rear wheel come off on a highway, no noise or vibrations to warn me, just all of a sudden a vibration that lasted all of 10 seconds, enough for me to wonder what it was, change lanes and begin slowing down and same *****... lol
Was a 4runner but still.

Yea the wheel flying off is some scary stuff man. Was their any damage to your truck ?

That is scary s*&%. Did the hub/trailing arm break first and cause the wheel to fly off? Or did it break from hitting the ground after the wheel flew off?

Yea scary is an understatement smh. The lug nuts were loose I assume. Because after I got it to the shop all 5 studs where in perfect shape; so the wheel just flew off “smooth” without damaging anything.

The hub/trailer arm was damaged because I had to drive to the next exit on 3 wheels so it was basically grinded down from me driving on it.. This was DEFINITELY a learning experience for me . When you hear noises CHECK IT OUT. And when a shop says it’s “fine” get a second opinion just to be sure!

Following. Love the ride man, we've got similar mods and I dig the white color. My wagon is sonic yellow, and remarkably got minimal rust for living up here in Alaska lol. Stoked to see more pics.

Are those overlays on the fogs? I need new ones.

Thank you I really appreciate that. sonic yellow is a pretty rare color and with minimal rust you sir have a gem on your hands..

The fogs lights are yellow film for them from amazon I believe they were $20. I can send the link if you want
