I am no way affiliated with ASE but,, their customer service and response time to all my dumb questions on these rare oem turbos is better than anything out there. Giorgio has personally answered my questions. Not many places do that. I strongly encourage anyone to choose their next turbo from them. Talk to WRXnick16 who has the holy grail VF58 they upgraded. He can set you up with anything you need from them

I'm curious if these are different than the "kit" offered for VABs that come with the pair of TGV deletes and the two sets of gaskets. I believe the middle holes on the intake manifold needed some modifying for the 08+ with the "Spec C" deletes. I'm wondering if the VAB kit would be ready to go? Good luck with the tune! |

These were cheap, and since Prime Tuning was installing injectors throwing these on the car didnt cost anymore so I figures why not. I still would love a Spec C manifold, however for now these will be fine. I definitely want to use the open circuits on the TGV's to install oil psi and oil temp and monitor it on the Accessport instead of gauges in the car. |

The heat shield mounts to the OEM stock heatshield mount in 3 parts. The SPT one could have fit, but its a pain in the ass with the spacers they need, and they always loosen up and rattle. Also, sorry I dont have any other pics with the heat shield off. I assume you are going to need the VAB intercooler bracket/mount the one that goes over the heat sheild |

![]() With all of the endless amounts of snow the US as a whole has gotten this year the mod plans are starting to slow. My tune was rescheduled for March 5th so I needed something to occupy my time.
Detailing. I will be the first to admit I like to keep the car clean. Not to the level some of you OCD crazy people are, but there is nothing like running your hand over a freshly clayed and waxed car. My grandfather loved detailing classic cars. OCD to a level that was insane to me. He is 92 now, and gave me all of his detailing tools that make this so enjoyable. He gave me mostly Griots Garage stuff, and their orbital buffers make even a newbie like me look good. Their 3" and 6" buffers make the job pretty effortless. Paired with their synthetic clay mit it took me maybe 4 hours to fully clay and wax the whole car. Griots told me on their awesome tech service to apply their Best of Show Wax by hand on the carbon roof and spoiler. Didn't get alot of pics outside yet, as the roads are still awful |

![]() A few fellow RA guys installed the OEM Kicker Tweeters and had good things to say about them. I had $100 sitting in my PayPal account from my Super Bowl winnings, so I pulled the trigger with Subispeed's Valentines Day discounts.
Overall, they sound fine. I thought the stock system was fine, but I am not an audiophile so who knows. I didn't buy the car for the sound system lol. |

![]() @archer1.8 I love following your build. Lots of great stuff. Curious... Are you able to run the engine undertray with all the front braces and stiffeners?

![]() The front undertray is still all bolted up perfectly. However, when I added the R205 lower support bar it pushes the back down so you can't get those rear clips to slide onto the Crossmember. My next oil change im gunna notch the tray for a perfect fit

![]() First off, I wan't to say thanks to Prime Motoring and JRTuned for doing an incredible job on the RA. Prime Motoring knows their stuff, and definitely respected seeing an all OEM type build. I heard very few negative comments about JR and his tuning abilities and was excited to see what he could do.
I dropped the car off Thursday March 5th, and I was shocked when they said it would be done Friday night! They were going to install my Spec C TGV deletes, (that require drilling the manifold holes), ID 1050x injectors, AEM Fuel Pump, and S209 Intake, Cobb remote Oil PSI sensor to accessport, and their pre dyno inspection. Friday at 5pm, I got a call telling me the car was done. I was shocked. I was even more shocked when he told me what it made on the dyno. They backed it off to an even 350whp and 380wtq at 19psi on 93 octane! They couldn't explain why the car made over 25whp and 25wtq more than typical 19+ cars on their dyno. Either way, I was happier than hell. I was thinking my future turbo upgrade on 93 would get me into those numbers lol. |

![]() Took advantage of a day off from work, and the 70 degree weather here in the Tri-State and took the RA on a 400+ mile break in on the new setup. If anything was gunna be a problem what better way to find out!
Left Morristown, NJ at 7am with a little breakfast on the wing lol Headed up to Cannonsville Reservoir in Deposit, NY. Drove up throught the Delaware Scenic Byway and had the road to myself for most of the day, This Man-made reservoir was built to directly feed NYC by the worlds longest undrground tunnel. They flooded like 5 towns to build this thing. Followed the incredible road over to to Pepacton Reservoir where the views and roads got even better. The car is absolutely incredible. Absolutely no knock to be seen on my logs throughput the day of beating on it respectfully. Torque is instant and more than enough for the mountains. The suspension is the best part. Yes, coilovers and some swaybars could get you to the same performance for cheaper, (and probably better) but the car is just so compliant and it feels OEM with absolutely NO understeer. I had a vision to try and replicate a car Subaru theoretically could have built and sold. Yes the fueling is aftermarket, and so is the DP, but that's about it. It's as close to what I think Subaru's Ultimate Tarmac Specialist feels like in the 2007 Spec C Type RA-R. Can't wait for upgrades coming. Last edited by archer1.8; 03-12-2021 at 07:09 PM. |

I drove a GC8 that had 4.11 gears and it was amazing. I would love to be able to have the 4.44 performance without sacrificing highway street-ability Its a list of things that will happen, and things that if I find a good price I would go for it.
