Pretty close. This includes a healthy bonus as well as the hiring bonus in stock that pays out over the course of 3 years.

Working as a technical program manager for a multi-billion dollar high tech company.

Wow that sounds like a nice job!! I work in a hospital and they treat us pretty dumppy.. Had to fight for a 2 dollar raise after working there for 7 years.

Edit: Just curious are you always backed up with work or is it a healthy sort of workflow relationship?

I just feel like I chose the wrong path.

It's not healthy. At least not on the development side in the tech industry. Compensation is commiserate with the pain. But sometimes the pain is right to the edge of tolerable. I even think it crosses the line in places.

My wife has worked her ass off to get where she is, the money is nice, but it's killing her. About to walk away and go buy a farm or something crazy

My wife has a good friend who did that. Went to law school, got a job at a big firm. Then realized after a year the ridiculous amount of hours of work each week for a decade to eventually become a partner where the real money was.

So she worked there a couple of years to learn the ropes, and then went and joined her dad's law firm and took it over when he retired.

My brother in law did something similar. Took a job with a big firm making a lot of money to represent corporations during labor disputes. He hated it and left a few years later to take a job with a university with lower pay but better quality of life.

That's always the case. Big money = big responsibility = your bosses own you. I know a few director types. Their phone owns them and their spouses are "single moms".

My job kinda sucks and most say they wont do it but i enjoy it.

Its just what you get used to i guess. I'm essentially at or near the top of the industry so i might as well make the best of it i suppose. Once this truck is paid for i will be a lot happier. Only $14x,xxx more to go. I paid $12,000 in interest on it last year.

I get the logistics headaches. But in my mind, you start every shift like this.

I thought my Federal tax liability this year might hit six figures, but alas I fell quite a bit short of that even before the solar credit and the like.

This...I'm same guy, tech PM in multi billion company. Start at 7 am, go to 7 or 8pm four days a week and can stop at 5ish on Friday. 'Only' four or five hours on the weekend, usually with Asia Sun night.
Alternate getting yelled at by execs and asking different functions WTH happened. Deal with engineers giving history of the world on every issue or going dark. Anything goes wrong it's your fault, anything right you kiss ass so team does it again next time.
Pay is great, everyone knows it, and 99% of people go **** THAT when asked if they want to do it. Not six figures in taxes good, but more in taxes than average American makes a year good.

Friend dated a dancer and she actually had boobs. She was very easy on the eyes. Sadly don't have pics; twas a time before camera phones were common.
