That Viofo looks to be basically the same as my Street Guardian sg9663dcpro, but with an upgraded front camera (mine is just 1080p F&R). Mine has been flawless other than a dead SD card (lots of beeps to let me know it was having trouble) and a loose USB cable to the rear cam. Neither were the fault of the cam and were easily troubleshot and remedied.

(My video of the 4-Runner sliding through the intersection was on an old Rexing V1N.. but I should replace it with that dual Viofo).

We were moving very slowly. I have good winter tires that were gripping the ice well, and the person behind me was keeping their distance. Trust me, I was judging them hard the whole time. Apparently there were 3 other fender benders along that strip during that hour. I dropped my wife off at work and took the snow-covered back roads home to avoid the slick-tired nutjobs on ice.

Edit: NutBucket, be sure your wife gets a checkup at the doctor. Even if she's 100% whole physically, if she took any time off work or lost any sleep she's due some compensation from the insurance company. Give them the bill for the checkup and refuse the first offer of compensation.

She did consult a lawyer (friend from high school) and decided it wasn't worth the time or effort. The at fault party has Mercury (of course). She missed 1.5 days of work...while technically something it was hardly burdensome on anyone.

And no, I'll be an attention whore and post a new thread when the papers are signed.

The video I posted was from a V119 A3.
I installed that camera kit in my truck a few weeks ago. If you want parking mode to work, be sure you get the proper hardwire harness that is compatible with the 129pro. I bought one on Amazon, was a real viofo harness, but it was an older one designed for the 119 and wouldn't power after ignition off... Probably different pinout or something. The are the same description, don't have a "part number" that is used for retail purposes, look 100% identical and I only found out the issue after some excessive interneting.

Edit: the firmware on mine was way out of current. Firmware available on viofo website.

I have the 4k version of that, but haven't hooked up the rear camera just yet. Video quality with the polarizing filter seen here:

I wish I had dashcam footage of how this thing got down there yesterday. That's the staircase leading down to a pedestrian underpass. Since they just went back to in-person instruction on campus, I've saw lots of idiots driving down bike paths/sidewalks they weren't supposed to be on.

Surely there's a camera that caught it.

Sorry about the accident and I'm glad your wife is ok. What do you mean about muting the mic? I have always kept the mic off.

In our case it was easy to see we were hit first. But if the mic was on there would be no doubt. Could help in a situation where the visual may not tell the whole story.

Wondering what was causing the slow down.

Got the dual cam setup installed in the Ascent. Of course I didn't measure/guesstimate first so the included 6M cable ended up being too short...and it isn't a standard USB connector. I couldn't find an extension. Ordered an 8M cable and finished it up. Running it through the accordion to the tailgate was surprisingly not painful at all.

https://www.viofo.com/en/home/197-a1...sh-camera.html

Only thing I noticed now is I'm getting a "NO GPS" message on the screen. I haven't driven it for more than about 5 minutes after install so I'll check it again later. Appeared to be working fine with just the main unit running.

Nice!

I've only got a forward one in my car, and have definitely been thinking about getting a dual setup.

But now I'm only driving 2 days a week for work, and WFH the rest of the time.

So the amount of time I spend in my car is drastically lower than it used to be.

Wife has been at the office throughout the pandemic (physical therapist). I've been going in daily since October or so. I'm on the fence about upgrading to a dual camera setup. I suppose I could use the extra one I've got for the back.
