Camera itself looks great but that style mount sucks. The Garmin has a similar one and it's going back. It needs to be discrete and tucked up high behind the mirror IMHO

Yea the video/image quality looks solid on that one. I think you'd still be able to tuck it behind the mirror, maybe.

I have the original Vantrue and it works very well. Picture is beautiful and it's very easy to use. That one looks like it has a few improvements for not much more money.

Because it's technically illegal to have it mounted on your windshield?

And, hanging it off a suction cup mounted on your windshield is legal?

I have this, which is very similar and a lot cheaper.

Button layout is the same, and specs are very similar.

The mount also sucks.

Yep. Built himself a tank slapper.

Correct me if I'm wrong: the way out of that was to let off the brakes and apply power.
And that is how it feels to drive a 911

I had one and it fell apart rather easily moving it from one car to the next... in my hands, the usb plug for power sucked (way too loose and wouldn't hold it sufficiently), and had way too much play (wasn't firmly secured in the enclosure).

Is there a better mouning option for the Garmin? I like the features but damn....I want something more unobtrusive.

This was on my commute home last night. New Audi owner, (he had temporary tags in the window.) blew past me doing 80mph+. When he saw the BMW on the right speed up, he decided to do the same and hydroplaned.
(As usual, NSFW language. )

I'm amazed he didn't hit anyone.

I know there are bad drivers everywhere but I've never seen more horrible drivers on a consistent basis than I did in the PNW.

The locals will tell you that it is all the transplants here, but I don't believe that for a minute.

Didn't the forum ban PNW groups from having meets, because they kept crashing into each other?

Not just that, but they drove off the side of mountains too.
