![]() Thank you. Very happy with that powerband.

Regarding the power portion of this build... I still want to thermal ceramic coat the downpipe. I’m sure it will have a minimal effect on spool, but probably a very positive effect of heat soak, both of which will only help in real world driving situations. The thermal ceramic coating will take a minimum of 3 weeks turnaround time with Swain Tech. But I’m in no rush to do that. More eager to get the car back and drive it than anything else at this point. Vince, the owner and tuner at R/T Tuning pointed out to me that the two other builds I was modeling mine after used Virtual Dynos, not actual dynos when posting their dyno graphs. So I take those with a grain of salt. But my powerband looks very similar to Pet3r’s 2015 STI. At this point, I’m not sure if the cams neither hurt nor helped. But perhaps they helped offset the UEL headers a bit. Last edited by QwaktastiK; 11-11-2020 at 09:37 AM. |

Just a heads up, if you go with the 350x34 front rotors (which you should) you will not be able to run dust shields. I tried fitting APR carbon dust shields, but they will not clear. ![]() ![]() Last edited by ProdriveWRC; 11-11-2020 at 11:02 PM. |

![]() If you're going with the 4-piston rear, you'll need to cut the backing plates as well.

![]() Can’t see your rpms. Definitely a good looking powerband for sure. Can’t wait to drive my car for the first time. Ever consider trying a different dyno that’s more accurate of a 20% drivetrain loss? I know CO is a lot higher elevation than the Philly area.

![]() This looks like the perfect setup. Almost, 80whp difference between [i] and S#, great contrast between the two. I bet this is an absolute blast to drive. I have been putting together my build list over the last few months. The EFR7163 from Full-Race in the stock location with a TMIC is one of the leading candidates. Seeing how your graph looks darn near solidifies that choice.

but, this is on a dynomite dyno which stock STis will dyno right around 200 whp. I was also having wastegate issues, where I was running out of WGDC. car would spike 29 psi but fall flat to 25ish. *EDIT* Found a better pic ![]() Last edited by Waddlz; 11-13-2020 at 12:56 PM. Reason: new graph |

This dyno is one of my favorite, most consistent dynos I've used (on par with DynoJet consistency). What do you think is inaccurate? |

![]() Yes, he did.
AFTER: ![]() BEFORE: This is from the dyno above. ![]() I had the Full Race kit with an EFR 6758 (it's the 05 STi on their site for the stock location kit) and I had to get a 2-port actuator and run the preload at 7mm. For a single gear pull starting at a lower RPM, it could build enough load to hit target. ![]() On the strip, while shifting gears and not getting the load seen at a lower RPM, I ran out of WGDC and was shy of target boost. I was planning on putting a 4-port in, but sold the car before doing that. ![]() My S2000 (also seen in the background of my picture on Full Race), I have an EFR 7064. I have a 2-port actuator with 7mm preload and I do have a hard time holding boost here at altitude. I picked up a 4-port to install. I only need the ability to hold 12 PSI flat as that's around 450whp. At 10 PSI, you can see the WGDC run up high and I still drop boost. This pull was 400whp with it tapering to 8ish PSI. ![]() Last edited by yamahaSHO; 11-13-2020 at 06:06 PM. |

![]() So doing a bit more research and consideration on brakes...
Initially I was planning on doing the Brembo Gran Turismo 6 piston fronts and 4 piston rears. The Gran Turismo kit offers more for less when compared to the R205 brakes. SpeedMasterLee did a great comparison of the GT6 vs the R205 fronts here: https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2821654 ![]() ![]() But with ProdriveWRC letting me know that the HD kit doesn’t work with dust shields, rear backing plates and aftermarket tie rods, I’m leaning away from this kit since my car is a daily driver. Next up is the R205 kit: ![]() ![]() This kit is great for that OEM+ fit and finish. It also utilizes 6 piston front calipers and 4 piston rear calipers like the GT kit. The front rotors drop down from 350mm to 340mm when compared to the GT6 fronts, but allow the use of dust shields. And it’s still a big step up from the stock 326mm front rotors. It’s the same calipers that comes on the Type RA, Series Grey and Series White STI (and obviously the same as the 2018+ STI’s, only silver instead of yellow.) As stated, it was the stock brakes on the R205 STI, a special edition hatch in 2010 exclusive to Japan. The rears are a step down as well from 345mm to 326mm when compared to the GT4 rears, but allow the backing plates and no fitment issues with aftermarket tie rods. And it’s still a step up from the stock 315mm rear rotors. This is a great option that comes as a complete kit, but is the most expensive of the bunch. Last up are the Type RA brakes: ![]() The calipers can be purchased directly from Subaru and the rest of the parts can be purchased separately through any number of aftermarket suppliers that we’re all familiar with. They are the same front calipers and utilize the same rotor size as the R205, but the rears drop to 2 piston rears, but still larger than the 08-14 STI rear calipers. Lancaster did this upgrade on his ‘14 STI GV and is very happy with it. As I said, I’m definitely leaning away from the Brembo GT kit at this point, but am trying to decide if I should do the Type RA front a rear calipers, or do the Type RA fronts with the R205 rears (4 piston). |

![]() Nah. I’m not really a fan of when people put other cars brakes on their car. I prefer the brake kits that are specifically meant to go on a specific chassis.
