![]() Subarus make such a lame RWD chassis. Absolutely amazing work and a massive amount of fabrication ahead of you but if the point of this car is to go fast...there are so many better chassis that would pair well with a 2JZ/T56

![]() This build is just for a fun street car to cruise in. Not meant to be competitive at all. Just something cool, fun and puts a big smile on my face. I use the car mostly as a promotional tool for my shop.

![]() Finally started test fitting this big unit.
![]() Also built a sweet micro adjustable stand to perfectly level the engine and adjust angles. It works hilariously well. I’ll have a chance this weekend to test fit the hood and bellhousing. ![]() |

![]() You're swapping one great sounding motor for another great sounding motor. This is great.

![]() Cant wait to see some updates on this. That stand you build for the engine is also pretty bad ass. Im surprised I haven't seen anything like that before.

![]() OP have you ever seen ty conways lsx wrx build thread in the conversions section? It may be helpful if you haven't because he ran a t56 and a 350z rear end. Ty does quality work too so it's a good read. He had to "massage" the trans tunnel with a small sledge hammer in certain areas to get that monster t56 to fit. Even though it looks about the same as the 6mt it's a little bigger in certain areas.

![]() Update:
I now have the trans/bellhousing fitting and the engine sits nicely under the hood. Engine mounts are fabricated and now I’m just working on restrengthening the subframe as I did some trimming to have it sit nice with the oil pan. Once I have the trans mount done I will then move to the rear end. ![]() ![]() |

![]() How much did you have to notch the subframe to wedge that thing in there?

![]() Update:
My bandsaw broke so I had to wait a few weeks for my new bigger one to arrive. Now that is here and I’m back in action. Subframe is complete, engine is in car with its full weight on engine mounts. Now it’s time to fab up the trans crossmember while still allowing enough room for the 4” exhaust. Should be a fun game of Tetris. Also picked up some new Furick cups for the tig. Should help a lot with gas coverage on my turbo manifold. I’ll be picking up my clutch, LPS Alphalok IC couplers and a few random goodies Monday. Lots to still do but making some progress finally. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Projects coming along! I like the new bigger bandsaw addition too.
I may have missed it but are you going to be using haltech for this setup too? Haltech seems to be one of the preferred 2jz em methods. |
