Warrior : Came on over from skinimax; a kung-fu spaghetti western that doesn't do anything new, but throws a whole lot into one graphic melting pot. The acting is passible (most of the time), the action is satisfying and quite sellable, but what shines is the set, scenery, locations, and environment in general. The grittiness of Frontier big little city is vividly captured.

I couldn't get past the 2nd episode. I'm at a point where there's a lot of legit good stuff to watch that I don't want to spend time with shows wholly based on stupid people doubling down on doing stupid stuff.

Normally this bugs me too, like, a LOT, and I would've passed on it as well (like I did with The Night Of... after the first episode), but I got hooked once they started with the flashback glimpses and the psychological stuff. Plus the promise of a satisfying payoff from all the reviews I've seen.

I'll be saying buh-bye to HBOMax in a week or so.

We got it because the month was cheaper than movie tickets to WW84 would have been.

Flight Attendant was a bonus. We've watched a couple of other things, but on the whole, I'm unimpressed with the catalog.

I can still muscle through stupid people doing stupid stuff, it's annoying, but if there's a payoff, I keep going.

now, infuriating people doing infuriating things? I have not gone more than 15 minutes into Made. I forced myself to watch Swingers, but wanted to punch Vince Vaughn at least once in every scene he was in.

it almost made me not want to watch any movie he was in, which would have been a shame, he was in a string of some of some great comedies.

Fair enough.

I got it for the original content, but I'm surprised by how much back catalog they have. It's a lot. And unlike Netflix, you can browse it.

Search buttons work fine. So does googling.

I've never paid for HBO, but then again I got it because of an overpriced att unlimited plan.

There's a lot of great stuff on HBO. The Leftovers is one of my recent favorites, along with Watchmen. Sharp Objects is amazing. Plus tons of stuff I saw growing up that I haven't seen in a long while.

I just started watching Succession.

First 30 minutes of the first episode I was about to stop watching... But then it got good

It kind of reminds me of Suits but with terrible people.

Yeah grind it out. I think it's great. Makes me wonder if it's an exact portrayal of that world.

I also love the theme music.

I was waiting to hear about Succession before I watched it and overall reviews have been great, so I might start it soon. Same with Euphoria.

I haven't watched The Sopranos in its entirety. I grew up having HBO and I'd see bits of episodes here and there, but nothing ever grabbed me, unlike Oz (as a kid). I need to give it a fair shot, although it feels like now other shows and movies have bitten off of it enough that I might not appreciate it.

Band of Brothers I've seen 4 times and I love it every damn time.

Seems like we've listed lots of good stuff to watch on HBO. Good job, team!

I enjoyed The Brink but unfortunately it was cancelled after 1 season. If you don't like Jack Black then you might not like it though.

That's part of my problem with a lot of these original content series.

So many get canceled or have short runs. I'm not willing to get emotionally invested in the show or characters.

If it gets to late 2nd or early 3rd season, I'll consider watching it.

I'm still broken from Firefly.

Brink was just too good, hard to pull of that kind of comedy. I loved Robbins as SecState.

forgive the pp angle but one of my favorite exchanges between SecState (Larson) and Israeli leader:
Quote:
Walter Larson:
Let's talk military aid. That's right. Let's touch that third rail.

Talia Levy:
Are you mad? Do I look like Latvia to you? We're Israel. Israel. Your Congress wouldn't do anything that would hurt us.

Walter Larson:
Trust me, arms can be twisted. Plus, I'm mishpocha with every Jewish senator - Boxer, Schumer, Feinstein.

Talia Levy:
[laughs] It's not the Jews who protect us. It's Texas, South Carolina, Mississippi. It's your right wing, neocon super-Christians, and they don't even like Jews. They just need us here to keep the lights on for their f***ing messiah.

Walter Larson:
Please, neocons are easy. You can buy off a neocon with a handjob from a ladyboy.
Need more of this kind of humor. Veep also brought it.

Looks like they added Snowpiercer. I watched it when it was on TNT. I liked it. Second season starts January 25 on TNT. Not sure if HBO will run it.

HBO Max is being thrown into all kinds of renewal bonuses for Internet and TV packages. I ended up with mine, after having HBO Go through Amazon Prime, was Comcast lowered my bill by about 10 bucks, if I signed up for HBO Max also, for 15 bucks a month. Ok, sure.

The app sucks on most devices, yeah. The browser version is much easier to use, especially if you want to search for things. They're adding a LOT of content and entire networks worth of stuff, like WB and Comedy Central, so it works a bit different than the other streaming services.

After some recent streaming shows and the focus on sound, I haven't been acquiring content from alternative sources as much. I always prefer a disc, but streaming is *sooooooo* much better than the free stuff.

I'd love it for this service to spin off a bit and just do an A La Carte thing, for 1 or 2 bucks you get specific channels. We're getting close. I'd always said I would pay 5 bucks a month for a Simpsons only channel, lol.

Guess having that big beer in the shower earlier was worth it.

My least favorite thing about HBOmax is that in order to pause/play the show on my Samsung TVs, I have to use the middle circle button and NOT the play/pause button.... WTF!?!?

I think thatís similar to most Samsung TV apps? Thatís what I usually press anyways

I like HBO Max. Probably my second most used app besides Netflix. Thereís not much on Amazon or Hulu besides The Boys and a few series. I enjoy watching Series I never had available.

Plus itís free for me

Great. A can opener also works if you want to open a can.

I want to BROWSE CONTENT. I'm not searching for one thing... I often don't know what I want to watch.

HBO has a lot of content and makes it easy to browse.

Which was my point.
