I had my second shot Tuesday. There was injection site soreness later that day but that went away by the next morning. The lymph node that enlarged after the first dose got larger by the next morning. I had more pain from it but never more than mild. I took a few ibuprofen on Wednesday and Thursday and that took care of any pain. The lymph node is still a little enlarged but not painful now. I didn’t have any other symptoms.

As with other vaccinations, I plan to take ibuprofen an hour before each jab. That usually helps temper any subsequent aches or inflammation.

I wouldn't do this for this or other vaccinations, as blunting that very inflammation may also blunt antibody response.

Retested today and came back negative. We had a “medium” case of it and it felt like getting a sinus infection and steph throat at the same time. It sucks, so anyone on the fence just follow the freaking rules and stay away from it - it’s awful to get.

Tonight daughter started complaining of a headache. Took her temp, very low grade fever. So tonight she’s isolating in her room, we’ll keep checking in on her. Wife is still isolating in our bedroom. Other twin is fine so far, could be nothing or could be general seasonal stuff.

I stopped in for groceries early, yesterday, to avoid the crowds. Face masks are mandatory. I’m wearing one. Everyone in store is. I’m zipping up and down the aisles quickly when Joe Stupid comes in, not wearing a mask, talking loudly on his phone, telling his buddy (fake or real) how everyone’s giving him the stink-eye. As he comes way to close to me, I tell him to put on an effing mask.

Joe Stupid is like, “what did you say?”, and starts closing the gap between us.

I now have two choices,

1) punch him in the face, or
2) tell him to get back and move away from him

I regret the choice I made.

That's dumb. You want to take out his knee with a sweeping blow. That way, instead of creating a cloud of sars2 you are standing in, and covering your hand with it, he falls twisting away, and a liitle shove to the shoulder, he might hit his head on the cheap pasta sauces on the lower shelf.

Speaking of grocery stores, I think shortages are starting to show up in my area here on the East coast.

Last week they were out of a lot of stuff, but that was consistent with happening to catch it at the tail end of a delivery cycle when they would get a new truck.

This week its clear they are getting some stuff, but not getting deliveries at the normal rate. Big empty spaces on shelves...not just depleted and picked over...empty.

Sam's Club still kicking along with the usual essentials and snacks. So that's good.

Our local Super Walmart leases the land from the adjacent Publix, who clamps down hard on what Walmart is allowed to sell in the grocery area as part of their agreement. So it's more of a Walmart+ than a Super Walmart.
