i think becuz it only has like 170 hp and its not even worth our time. i remember i couple of days ago i was drving down hawthorne and a guy pulls up and thinks my suby is the new SRT4...then when i took off at the light he tried to race me in his civic..hahaha...then when when my blowoff went off...he pulled up next to me at the light and said "whats the sound" i told him it was the blow off to my turbo..and he said cool!!! i like that! i just thought it was funny that he thought that our cars were the SRT4

215hp and 245trq is not bad. as ar as reliabilty they have gotten better but i guess il just have to wait and see

Id rather have it then the doge... it is underpowered, but that can be taken care of. The mp3 was an autox monster.

People are still missing the point with the SRT4...

SRT4 - 2.4 Liter 16g Turbo

Protege - T25

WRX - TD04

Duh the SRT4 should statistically be the fastest. The thing about the Mazda I like is the sport tuned suspension... the SRT4 seems to be a drag queen, and the aftermarket support.

The Mazda outhandles just about anything on the road right now. The MP3 gets insane Auto-X and slalom times.

i agree... Look at Michael Schumacher. He took a struggling Ferrari team and turned them into a power house on driving skill's alone.

i'd take the protege any day of the week over the SRT-4, as long as i didn't have to get an ORANGE one...

i drove one, they are hella fun, BUT the car NEEDS better seats. first mod i would make to that car would be to rip those unsupportive, perch-like seats out, and put a set of sparcos in. you feel like you're going to roll off the top of the cushion even at a standstill.

and get rid of the *heavy* (from what i've heard) racing hart wheels. some nice light 15's would improve that car's response a bit.

How many of the Mazdaspeed Proteges were built..? I think they're already gone.

Nice car, can't wait to race against one at an AutoX.

yes, that's my last demand...

BUILD MORE OF THEM.

i tried in vain looking for an MP3, but all of them have been riced to death. what a shame. the only one i found that wasn't was in chicago, and it still had horrid APC tails on it...

So Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, Paulo Martinelli, and Rory Byrne had nothing to do with it then...?

Schumacher is the business behind the wheel, but without the above mentioned people the Ferrari would still be the joke of a racing car it was ten years ago.

Spoon face can drive, sure, but he's always been a pansy about being on the most loaded team huh? Reminds me of Alain Prost.

The bad thing about the Mazdaspeed is that it is such a limmited production car. 1500? What the hell is that? They want it as an image car but they don't want to produce enough so anyone who wants one can have it. So what that means is you have to be ready to buy a car in the small window of time it is available. It is not even an option for so many people.

I would take the SRT-4 over it anyway.

and then there's the $5K dealer markup, which puts the actual pricing in WRX/RSX territory...that's why i won't evAr buy one unless mazda pulls their heads out of their arses.

let me see, i have to make a split second (rash) decision on a major purchase, and i'm going to get gouged on it as well? no thanks.

what a shame...it would be a nice car for a -sensible- ammount of money.
