Purchasing Stoptech Brake Lines & Rotors
Its time that I must change my brake rotors so I might as well change my brake lines.
Anyway, before I even start talking about Stoptech, do you guys have any other brand to recommend me? I want the slotted rotors and the stainless steel lines. I like the Stoptech Aerorotors but too bad, its not available for my car. I am also looking on that last long (think) rather than light weight. How about brake lines? Any other alternative? - Charles

I was really impressed with the stoptech SS brake lines. They were coated with a plastic to help seal them against the elements. They seemed very high quality. I would definitly recommend.

http://mastrowrx.com/index.asp?PageA...PROD&ProdID=80 for the street I think OEM rotors are the way to go - stock size up front, larger "H6" upgrade in the rear for the 02-05 WRX - or even better Brembo blanks from these guys: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ghlight=import for the track DBA is well thought of on this board - lots of rotor options. the basic 1-piece slotted StopTech rotors would work fine for auto-x, and their BBK's are unreal for a road course or severe canyon running... |

I just did Brembo blanks in the OE size, Ultimate Axxis pads F&R, and Goodridge SS lines.
The installation of eveything was hella simple, and after bedding the pads, they bite like velcro. Not seeing as much dust as I had expected, but I've got '05 WRX wheels on my wagon, so they hide dust pretty well. I bought the lines here: http://www.sojdm.com/productcart/pc/...dCategory=1712 I had them in two days for less than $100 shipped. As people with more experience have already said, you don't need a significant upgrade from the stock rotors unless you're planning track time. |

Well, since I need to change, why pay for stock rotors anyway?
Anyway, where can I get the cheapest stoptech rotors? - Charles |

I think those that have chimed in about OE blank rotors are just trying to save you a little cash since the performance between blanks and slotted rotors will be minimal on the street...

thanks guys. I appreciate your help but I am asking about how much the stoptech rotors will cost rather than asking if stoptech slotted rotors is better or worst than the blank OEM rotor.

Take a look in the vendor forum. There are a lot of vendors selling them. I got mine from Import Image Racing. They were a little cheaper than buying direct from stoptech.

I am looking into buying the rotor itself. Most of the vendors are selling some kind of combination with the Axis pad which I dont like it.

You mean something like this:
http://www.zeckhausen.com/Subaru/WRX_STi.htm A simple google search will be your best bet for finding vendors that sell the StopTech rotors separate from a complete BBK |
