change to webers ?
what do you guys think about changing over to a pair of weber down drafts maybe 48 idf's. then i could get some bigger cams made with out worring about cel's and engine mapping issues.

I think if you can make a set of weber carbs fit and work then it might be worth it... I don't think that it has been done yet so it is hard to know for sure, but maby race cars use carbs instead of EFI. it is coman on race preped porsches to switch to carbs... they can flow more than the stock TB amd in a NA tune they can be set up well. I just don't know if true gains would be there.

Webers are fantastic carbs, but there is a downside to your idea.
No intake available (least, I've never seen one). No choke provision (have fun during cold starts). Instant throttle response is the best benefit. True, fuel injection is a wonderful thing. I think I'd rather go the Electromotive or similiar route if the only annoyance is the CEL, would certainly solve that and is much easier to tune than Webers. Have you priced jets and chokes lately? |

well as for the no manifolds were i work i will be able to fab them up. and the real reason is easy tuning because i want bigger cams. i am used to jetting carb and have done webers before.
oh i fogot about electromotive. but the sound would be awsome don't you think. mike kasch |
