Daily driver friendly mounts
I am looking for recommendations for which mounts and brands I should look at for my 2015 6MT WRX. Pitch stop? Tranny Mount? Others?
This is my daily driver and I often have my wife and kids in the car as well. I'm looking to eliminate some of the pitching from the engine/tranny during shifting but don't want to go the solid mount route. Has anyone installed a good combo of mounts that they're happy with?

We have no idea what you consider "happy".
Upgrading the mounts WILL cause in increase in noise / vibration / harshness. There is no way around it. You don't need an upgraded Pitch Stop. Save your money. Upgrading to the STi motor and transmission mounts make a noticeable improvement BUT some people like it just fine and others think it makes for too harsh a ride. Best thing to do, if you want to upgrade, is see if you can find someone who has a car similar to yours is all ways, and get a ride to see if you can live with it. Then, you are going to have to decide if your wife & kids will live with it, and with you after you upgrade |

Thanks for the input on the pitch stop.
I am assuming the STI group N mounts are going to be the closest to stock WRX in terms of NVH? If so, I may give those a shot if I can't find a WRX around me to compare. |

The STi mounts are an upgrade over the WRX OEM mounts. Personally, I found them to be an agreeable upgrade with some change in NVH but not disagreeable to me. I tend to be picky about things like NVH, etc.
There has been previous discussion if the STi mounts are GrpN or not. Based on what has been posted here, GrpN mounts are somewhat firmer than STi mounts, but not drastically so, and STi mounts are definitely a good upgrade over WRX OEM. |

So, a 5 year old car, have issues with "slop". Unless you are spewing oil that kills mounts, or have 150K miles on it, hmmmmm......maybe practice driving a MT better?
New OEM mounts can fix shot OEM mounts. I doubt your OEM's are shot. I did group N engine and trans mounts, I notice the difference compared to a similar car with just new OEM mounts. I would skip the pitch stop. Last edited by Charlie-III; 08-03-2018 at 09:48 AM. |

If I came off as hostile, sorry, but really, the drivetrain is fine unless you have other issues. I have driven many different years and models of Subaru. Some respond negatively to less than wonderful shifting. As I stated, OEM mounts should be fine for your year unless you have lots of oil leaks killing the flexie bits in the mounts. If the OEM mounts are shot (oil or miles), then new OEM mounts will fix that. Pretty much ANYTHING else will introduce NVH to the car which it seems like, you want to avoid. What more can we do for free? Several recommendations and possible downsides. BTW, "unliked pitching" usually means slop....... |
