I'm sure they'll swap your engine, yes. They build whole rally cars and do "all kinds of services" ... so I don't imagine why they wouldn't do an engine job. Not sure how much it'd be, though.

Yes they have a rep. A very good one. They're a pro rally prep company that also resells good product at competetive prices. Email response is finicky sometimes... I wrote to them a few days ago about a clutch job and haven't heard back yet, I'll be going to another place tomorrow, most likely. Everyone here said they'd probably be more expensive than a dealership, but I'm not so convinced. They're reasonable with people and have always been polite in past Emails I've swapped with them--much more than can be said for some dealers.

VT sportscar will certainly do it. Also check with LaChute Subaru in Quebec as well.

Cheers! John

Double the cost you have in mind-that should be just about right.

Cheers! John

RalliSpec in NJ will do it too, for the same kind of pricing.

A 2.5L swap into a 1.8L car might not be as difficult as doing a turbo swap. I'm not sure if the cross member has to change or not (on a turbo swap it does).

So, the ECU wiring and other items are probably the same labor though.

Good luck with it. This sort of swaps seem to be expensive, but I think it is worth paying a good shop such as Rallispec and VT Sportscar if you can't do the swap yourself. You don't want a half-assed job.

Not sure what you have into the 1.8L car now, but you might want to consider shopping for a 2.5RS car to replace it. It might be cheaper than doing the motor swap.

I was at VT sports car the other day... I was told around 5-6k for a wrx swap... that was just a guesstimate though.

Basically I told them about the price sheet I found on i-speed's site, which adds up to (with upgrades) around 10 grand. Clint of VTSC gasped and said they could probably do it for half that... So its pretty much had me in the dispute of new car or new drivetrain...
