![]() LTT did a video yesterday diving deep into the efforts people take to reduce delays. it's a little excessive intentionally. |

![]() Also not gonna happen while ISPs like Comcast have data caps. I was so happy to ditch them since I moved to a town with municipal fiber. Even with a 1GB reciprocal connection, I still wouldn't want to play competitive shooters on the cloud.

![]() Admittedly I know very little about how it works, but the general idea of cloud gaming doesn't sound appealing to me. Seems like there are too many variables that can cause an inconsistent experience.

![]() PC'ish..
but bought a 4 channel 100W Dayton amp and 4x Aura shakers to strap on the sim rig and zoom zoom in my boom boom. been looking into it a bit.. friend slapped 2 on his rig and loves it and now I understand all the setup/software. Decided I was too far down the rabbit-hole researching, this will put an end to that. |

![]() edit, double post reclamation..
had this printed, have the touch screen element. LED's and controller are inbound. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4535313 will be like $70 in material not including 3d-print. there is stuff running around that's similar, but you're looking at $3-400. Never built an Arduino thing, but seems straightforward enough Last edited by Fish; 01-18-2023 at 02:09 PM. |

![]() No, I am still waiting on competence and components to arrive for the dashboard.
Another trick the same software that runs the dash can do is bass/vibration transducer control. have 4 shaker motors to put on the corners of the frame. USB amps show up as audio devices so I can do each on it's own channel/wheel. I just got the transducers and figured out how to do mounts yesterday, just need to order some more extruded aluminum bits and RCA cables. It'll likely be working before the LCD dash is. |

![]() Is there a current bang-for-the-buck bargain GPU champ à la the GeForce 8800GT, the GeForce GTX 1650 Super, etc., or have current prices and market trends pretty much doomed such a thing from existing nowadays?
Can I spend around $250 and get something significantly better/faster than my 1650 Super? I'm no hardcore gamer but I do have the opportunity to upgrade so I can move my 1650 down the line to another project. |

![]() I'm contemplating rebuilding my system.
Current: i7-9700k, 2070 Super, 32GB DDR4, 1TB NVME. Gaming at 1440p, 144 mhz. Proposed: i5-13600k (planning to overclock), 2070 Super (carryover while I wait), 32GB DDR4 (carryover), 1TB NVME (carryover). - The z690 board and chip are going to run me about $600 with the combo I'm looking at. Games I typically play are Star Citizen, Cyberpunk, RPG's and some shooters. I would like to do some editing of videos / clips in the future. I'm not a streamer and I'm not looking for 1080p FPS competitive shooters. In that vein, I've been looking at the AMD 7000 XTX and the 4080 as my next step for a GPU. If I get a new GPU faster than a 3070 my i7-9700k even overclocked will be bottlenecked (from what I have researched). I recognize that the AMD chips (3xd 7 series) are coming out in the next month. I think those chips will be big steps in performance so I've looked a build that is like this that would "future" proof me on one of those: 7700x + 32gb DDR5 + new board - $780. So additional cost of roughly $200 which is tied up in board costs + new memory costs. This is using a memory + CPU bundle from Microcenter. If I don't have utilize that bundle and buy those same components as separates I end up at roughly $900. |

![]() It's a weird time to buy a GPU. Much better options than a year ago but I think prices are still going to stagnate a bit before going down further.
For $250 I'd probably buy something used, budget options don't seem that great yet these days. Maybe AMD has something but their numbers are confusing ![]() |

That's pretty good. I'm assuming DDR4 board? The 12700k chip is 299 right now. There are some combos if you have a microcenter near you that are similar in price. https://www.microcenter.com/product/...herboard-combo I wouldn't be mad at having a gen 12 or gen 13 Intel. |
