![]() Just did a VF30/Pinks/Pump install on a buddies car.
The car basically wont start.. Cranks over fine, but sounds like its getting choked for air. Try to take the I/C off, car runs/idles fine. Put the I/C back on, and car wont stay running. Take the BOV off the I/C car runs. Try another BOV, car runs... ANY ideas?!?!

![]() Have you tried the stock bypass valve yet? Or tried adjusting the BOV you're using? It's possible it's leaking at idle.

![]() You haven't considered the pinks fueling more....mebbe...???
Have you re-set the ECU??? and I'd use the stock valve until the ECU gets a little happy with the extra fuel. |

![]() the car should idle with or with out a working bov. that means in your situation that the extra air coming in from the lack of a bov is alowing it to idle with all the extra fuel you have now for some reason. does the car smell of gas when you try and start it with the bov on?

![]() I have my car dying on me once and wouldn't start, the problem was the upgrade BOV . The piston inside the BOV got stuck because I excessively lubricated it with WD-40, once the WD-40 disappeared the remain oil and the dirt created a bound of dirt and grime that wouldn't allow the piston to move freely therefore it got stuck in the open position.
The car wouldn't even start at all. Try the hoses that go to the BOV , they might be discconested. Good luck!! |

![]() The car is totally out of whack. It should barely run (if at all) with no BOV attached as you have massive amounts of unmetered air coming in with that setup. Sounds like you have too much fuel going into the car and when it gets more air than it thinks, it actually can somewhat idle.
Your tuning is off somewhere; go back and double-check it all. Your BOV isn't the problem; it's the poor control of the new fuel injectors. ![]() Unmetered air == bad. Want a test? Go take a stock car and disconnect the BOV and see what happens. If it idles, it's barely there. I've left the BOV disconnected a couple of times and learned my lesson when it was time to crank the car back up again. ![]() |

![]() If you have it apart enough, toss the stock injectors back in and set the UTEC for the correct injectors (aren't they 440 I think?) and see if it will run right with the entire system intact. If so, bad injectors or bad setup on the UTEC.
