If someone organizes one. There is no heiarchy to txic if someone takes the initiative to organize one there will be one. If no one does then nothing happens. So the questions is really would you like to organize a state meet?

I had so much fun at the one in Austin last year, so I was just hoping somebody would step up and plan another one.

Anybody game?

quite frankly all of the old hands who have had a hand in organizing the meets are a bit tired of all the bickering that takes place... somebody also usually takes a huge financial hit as people sign up and don't show... and those are the same people who whine when we want people to pay up front to make it less likely for people to get stuck holding the "Bill"...

so, if you want to organize one go ahead, but be prepared for a headache...

I've been thinking about this, and I might be game for doing a state meet. I'm going to talk to the Austin folk and see if they'll help me out so it's just not one person doing everything.

I would like to just have a get together at Brazos Bend State Park for the locals and who ever else would like to come. A basic burger and dog affair. Plenty of room there, and some nice roads just outside the park.

every time i say I won't participate or help out with a meet, I end up doing quite a bit. It is ALOT of work, ...obvioulsy worth it in the end, but as Rob stated, be prepared to take a financial loss or have to put up some money up front. I'd be interested in co-hosting an event with another dedicated individual. Austin, Houston, or Dallas, ...make no difference to me. I'd like Houston because it's local and my shop makes a decent location for some activity. I like Austin because of the Lime Creek drives and [email protected]'s selfless contributions. I like Dallas, ..well, I dunno why I like Dallas? Anyway, i'd suggest if ya'll want it, start up the polls, and start planning dates, locations, etc.. for at least December or even later (or ealry next year).

I'd be more then happy to help you guys out as much as I can, but I'm limited in the organizational end of things running the business, etc. If you need anything, though, hit me up.

This should be an interesting bit of useless trivia...

How many people have been to all 4 Statemeets? This is not including the original TSOG RS meet, as it was pre WRX and excludes the majority of TXIC...

<Raises Hand>

I've seen 'em all...

I'll keep a running count...

The first step would be to eliminate the "state meet" title. Just call it what it is, a get together. Cut out all the extras. Make it a one day affair. Sun up to sun down. Just look for a date, and call it a day. I need to go back to the park again and take some pics.
