The car has been in the garage for the winter while I have been working on the fuel system. I will snap some pics as soon as the battery gets back in the car. I was concerned about not being able to see them at night as well, so I remade that pod 3 times before I got it right. The last pic of them in the car shows my heads perspective when I am sitting in the car. Thanks for the comments guys. |

how do you take the center console out of an 06? i've got the piece off by the shifter and i was just wondering if the top vents come out first or the middle piece. they both felt a bit tight lol. i'm planning on painting it. thanks

it will come off, you just have to use some force. the clips are in there pretty tight.
try to do both sides at the same time tho just to keep leverage off the clips |

The bar is made of stainless steel, my original idea was to powdercoat it black, but when the fabrication was done and I bolted it on, I liked the shiny look the steel had, and decided to have it polished. The only downside is that even though it's polished it still tarnishes slightly when it gets rained on, which means I have to clean it up with some polishing compound every time it rains (Good thing it almost never rains here in SoCal). I asked my polish guy about a clearcoat powder coat on it but he said it would give it a cloudy finish. I used to be all about the JDM fog look, I thought it looked really good, still do. I think I'm all set for lighting for the time being. The only other lighting mods I've got planned for now is an HID retrofit. But maybe down the road when I run out of other things to do to the car I'll look into a fog upgrade. |

Approx. how much does the bar weigh? Ive been toying with the idea for a while, but was concerned a bit about weight and the only pipe i had laying around felt a bit too heavy to use for this application. |

No pictures yet, i should of taken some before i installed, but ive never heard or seen anyone on here do this soo...
anyhow i have a blitz touring exhaust on my 03 wrx, and ive been looking for something louder, however i didnt want the canister exhaust. so here is a solution to have a louder exhaust that isnt permanently loud. the blitz touring exhaust is a straight through exhaust, that still manages to keep the exhaust note quite most of the time until WOT where is livens up. so the inside diameter in the blitz exhaust is 2.5in. so i took a piece of 2.25 ID(approx 2.5 OD) galvanized steel tubing from VIP, got a piece about 1 1/2 feet long, and it comes with a little flare at one end. painted it with some flatblack high temp paint i had layin around, jus a quick spray..and inserted it into the muffler. instant muffler delete, without the problems of the obvious missing muffler that a cop can spot ..it currently is just crammed in there REALLY good, not sure if i will be able to get it out easily, but i will rig up a set screw type system so its easier to remove and such. also if the pipe is inserted at different lengths into the muffler the tone gets louder and louder the further the pipe is put in... so i may also purchase some different length pipes to give me some options for exhaust 'volume'.... ill post up some sound clips and some pics when i get some time.. let me know what yall think |
