PSA sold 3.78M vehicles last year without selling anything _directly_ into the USDM (a few of the Buick models are made by Opel/Vauxhall and it's all part of PSA now).
They just need some piece of the USDM pie to make this a reasonably profitable venture.
I don't think they would be making a move if they thought they would be losing their ass (again !) coming here.
But, hey, nothing has been officially announced yet; I'm hearing 2024 as a tentative timeframe.

That's the key - badge them as one of the big three.

In the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix days, the Vibe outsold the Matrix about 10:1. It helped Toyota get to where it is today. It could work for PSA.

At the time, Toyota already had the best selling car in the US and the world. The reason the Vibe outsold the Matrix was because it was 3/4 the cost.

Not that I don't think selling under a difference brand is a bad idea as it brings in revenue, but it does nothing for brand recognition.

The CEO of Peugeot says that the French brand will now be re-entering the U.S. market within the next four years.
Previously, the plan was to be back in the States by 2026.
Some of the cars that will initially come to the U.S. will be models that are already part of Peugeot's European lineup.

That is an impressively ugly familial dashboard layout.

What, no more WRC homologation hot hatches? Boo! And they can keep their filthy crossover to themselves, plus they can't pull off the 3-bar tail lights like Mustang can.

the 208, 308, and 508 SW are great, I'd like to see them on US streets.

The interior on the 508 is pure sex.

although the backwards tach is a little odd...

That dash is what is called designed and has aesthetics. I know Tesla is not big into giving you expensive finishes or, I do not know, maybe a curve or two. But at least that dash does not look like it was designed only using nothing but a yard stick.

Interesting angles, varied textures, and these crazy things called Gauges may seem futuristic, but I promise you, they are useful.

Those chrome things (vents?) on either side of the gauge cluster look like handlebars and make that setup look like a motorcycle gauge cluster.

Incidentally, Peugeot also makes bicycles and scooters . My first motorcycle ride was on a 3-hp Peugeot 103SP...
