I still wish I could love Tesla vehicles because the tech / battery / motors are top of the game. I could probably deal with the large iPad like screen but the one thing that has really stuck and bothered me is how horrible the suspension is in the Y and 3. I don't think I've been in any vehicle that rode so stiff and feels like I'm going over massive potholes when it's little imperfections in the road. Wish they would go back to the air suspension setup or something more comfortable

You can fix that easy with MPP KW suspension for $2K. My Model 3 Performance had 18" wheels and the ride quality was good compared to the 20" wheels. The Model Y is supposed to ride stiffer probably because of the 21" and the additional weight. I think just switching the wheels to 18's changes the ride quality and improves interior noise a lot. Also keep in mind that the Performance models ride lower so they run stiffer than the LR version. https://www.mountainpassperformance....age-pre-order/

There were some rumors about air suspension coming for the Model 3 and Y but who knows.

That's why I bought another S instead of a 3. However I did ride in a late-2021 model Y recently, and the suspension is quite a bit better than described. Still stiffer than your average small SUV owner would want, but the shocks were better than I expected. Ride better than my old Legacy, for sure.

Air suspension and ludicrous mode were definitely supposed to come to 3. However I think selling every single one they can make discourages them from having any variety. Perhaps in 2023-2024 they'll add some of these features as their manufacturing capacity has a chance of exceeding demand. More colors too.

When you order a new vehicle, you expect some new sounds, and obviously the new car smell. However, for one Tesla owner, their new Model 3 came sans a brake pad, and you can only imagine the sound.

April Gilmore had her Tesla Model 3 delivered in late December. However, she started to hear a worrying scraping side from the driver side rear wheel while driving. A day later, she reported her issue to Tesla.

Tesla informed her they did not have any inspections available in the near term, and the next appointment was three weeks out.

The next day Tesla asked to see a video of the issue.

April sent across the video and the sound of the scraping. Her Tesla service advisor claimed multiple people listened to the video to declare the brakes were normal for a Model 3.

Gilmore disagreed and pushed for an appointment sooner. Tesla informed her to tow the vehicle if she was worried.
As you can hear, she had a right to be worried. She did end up towing the vehicle to a local independent Tesla shop where a technician removed the wheel to discover the left rear corner brake pad was missing.

There was no pad, so the vehicle also needed a new rotor and brake caliper in addition to a brake pad.

After seeing the technician’s video, Tesla got her into their Service Centre. They did not have a loaner available and provided her Uber credits.

Due to part issues, the repair has seen four separate setbacks. The repair was originally for December 31.

However, it has seen delays to January 7 to January 14 and now January 19.

Tesla, for its part, has covered a month of her payments for the vehicle.

It beats the alternative. Given she was driving the car things could have been a lot worse if she got into a situation where she couldn't make a proper emergency stop. I guess life with a Tesla is never dull.

Here is a review of the Model X Plaid; he was able to run 0-60mph in 2.3 seconds according to his V-box at 64% SOC which 0.2 quicker than what is on Tesla's website:

I'd say that's hilarious but it's not. Worst part is she said they told her to send a video and the multiple techs said that the noise was normal. Tesla's quality and customer service is pretty much garbage. I'm sure the resident fanboy will say "but people are satisfied with their purchase".

Wow 10.9 FSD is way better than 10.8. I was able to do a 25 minute drive through downtown at peak traffic hour with zero interventions. There a combination of left turns, right turns, merging, entering the highway and exiting the highway and even driving without any lines through my neighborhood. This is first time I thought FSD could actually become real. I am very impressed.
