On FSD Beta on the "assertive" mode the car will do a rolling stop so they will do an OTA update to get rid of that.

I will give you props for not polluting other threads with Tesla nonsense on a regular basis. I would assume posting on TMC would be more fun for you though as it's an echo chamber where posters get to thumbs down anyone critical of the brand and its products.

What's the problem with posting on a Tesla thread re: Tesla news, diss, or support? And most of us don't own Subaru's anymore.

I think Tesla should brag less about their FSD and just keep on making improvements until it's actually worth bragging - i.e. pretty much flawless. Who knows when they will actually even reach L4.

My experience has been better than that and it looks like is not running 10.9 beta but the ****ty 10.8 FSD which was bad. I am no sure what is wrong after the 20 second mark other than trying to drive over the designated parking area:

-at 0:29 was the car supposed to stop for the guy that wanted to cross the road?
-at 0:50 I am not sure what is wrong because the the system did not disengage asking the driver to take over because you would have seen a large red steering wheel warning. It seems like he is pushing the accelerator and the system disengaged.
-at 1:01 again no idea what he is taking over. The car took a wide turn to make it around the van and is following the navigation route and you can clearly see the path planner going in between the cars.

And the worse one is when the box truck goes in front the car. On the FSD visualization the car can clearly see the truck but I think he is pressing the accelerator so it looks like is going to hit the box truck. This video was shot for an article of the Boston journal. Taylor Organ says that he is a Tesla fan but you check he is twitter he loves BYD, he loves to crap on Tesla and he loves Teslaq members. I wish Tesla would sue people here like they are doing in China.

So I see in that video two legit issues the path planner trying to drive on the wrong side and than driving over the parking designated spaces. If he were using FSD 10.9 maybe it would not have done such things?.. idk. Hopefully FSD will keep improving. I may start doing my own videos lol.

I have to give Elon props. Has any other software company ever been able to swindle thousands of consumers into paying thousands of dollars for the opportunity to R&D software for a large company? It blows my mind as many of these owners will likely move on to another vehicle long before FSD is ever finished. I feel Tesla should be rebating owners based on how many miles of R&D they have performed on behalf of the company.

Yes. Basically every early adopter in the history of IT. Tesla's knack is making people piss themselves for the opportunity to do so. That's their novelty.

I could still own a Subaru but they've been making the same damn car for 20 years. It's hard to see how the target demographic for a WRX or a turbo Legacy would actually buy a Subaru over a Model 3. I laid out the financial case for that even with Model S probably about 10 years ago on this forum, and since then it's shifted even more dramatically towards Tesla. So, maybe we should all leave as Subaru's never going to be a thing again, and hard to see the brand surviving the coming armageddon on legacy auto.

However it's been helpful in a sense - "does anyone near the same target demographic have anything smart to say about why Tesla will fail?" ....and that's a no. Keep buying stock, keep buying the cars.

I wonder how the performance, charging speed, range, and weight will change on the Model Y. Maybe Tesla will choose to use way less cells and the car we will be a good bit lighter. Margins will eventually increase by a lot.

Interesting angle. It will be also be interesting to see how these Teslas age. I prefer cars made around 2000, but I worry about how long I can stay old school (if you can call a 2000 old school).

I'm getting a Plaid S next week, and I was really hoping they'd introduce an option to let new Model S drivers get the wheel and traditional stalks (especially since the nice Model 3 wheel and stalks basically plug in and just need software mods to enable), but it looks like Elon is doubling down on the revolutionary design changes...

Apparently this new design will let you see the brake calipers better. Also, Elon thought that brake pedals are ugly, so he's replacing them with sleek capacitance brake buttons on each wheel:

I've been shopping Tesla's really hard lately, but I'm a bit concerned about not knowing what I'm going to get if I order one.

How can a person tell if their order, placed today, would be missing rear USBs or lumbar on the passenger seat? What else has Tesla had to remove due to the chip shortage?

I'm currently leaning heavily towards the Y, with a Model 3 as an option only due to the cost differential between it and the Y.

This is not a problem unique to Tesla build orders these days. Even when I ordered my Porsche Taycan 2021 model they were coming out of the factory missing non essential parts (to be retrofitted later at dealership at Porsches expense) and I hear other Models as well we're missing features as well during parts shortage. Just sharing for perspective.

There's no way to tell until delivery day. It goes both ways. Many people have been surprised by upgrades like LED matrix headlights, etc. Some people even paid old model S prices for the refresh model S, ~30-40k price gap.
