That's impressive if it's really a 100% bone stock car. The Civic Type R ring time for example was totally meaningless because it was a prototype and didn't represent a 100% stock car.

I wonder if it's a square setup for the tires unlike the previous car with wider fronts.

Seems like the new AWD system has helped with the understeer.

I wish the front end wasn't so homely. This has to be the ugliest Audi in a long time. Audi realizes that cars can't spread COVID right? Why put a big black mask on the front end of the RS3?

No MT means less engagement than M2. Really wish they still had an MT option.

how "engaging" can a modern car really be with abs, traction control, stability control, etc? modern manuals are so dumbed down and easy to drive it adds next to nothing.

M2 is RWD it's going to be more engaging regardless of the transmission. This car has always been a straight line missile that is passable taking corners. It's going to get smoked on tracks by an M2.

Yes I have watched them. What's your point? This car competes more with an AMG CLA 45 that's a FWD based sedan (hatch in europe). M2 is a longitudinal engine RWD coupe and kind of lives in its own class as the last of the small, fast coupes that still have a manual transmission available.

My point is, the RS3 is faster and more entertaining now than an M2. Easy to slide around, lets you change modes to go for more slide-y or more serious, and has already posted faster lap times than even an M2 CS.

If all you care about is manual transmission fun then ya, you will like the M2 better. But I find dual clutches just as fun and a car that can slide like that RS3 does in the videos yet still post crazy fast lap times is exactly what I consider an EXTREMELY entertaining car.

These are all incredibly fast high tech fairly lux platforms. If you want a lively driving experience over all else, you buy a stripped out Lotus. This is like arguing over which candy is more healthy.

Same with the AMG CLA. I'm not married to hatches or sedans but in the case of both the AMG CLA and the RS3 they simply look better in hatchback form.

CLA looks so much better than this. They ruined the styling, IMO. I am going with M2 all day long or anything RWD based at this price point.

The front end styling is a bit awkward and not as attractive as our 2019 S3. However, I'd still love to drive one. It sounds like Audi managed to bake in some of the excitement that is missing from the prior generation. Our 2019 is a great jack of all trades, but can be a bit aloof at times.
